iCITY’s touchscreen is projected through glass. This allows iCITY to blend in as well as become a node in any city street corner. iCITY is both a navigation station and beacon of help for any local or tourist in a city. iCITY’s height also allows for camera’s on top which can be connected via any computer to recieve real time display of tra�c conditions. Using color, iCITY can display changes in weather from rain to shine depending on its coloration.

iCity is also a beacon for sustainable energy. It powers itself through kinetic and solar energy. It is out�tted with solar panels as well as a new technology, Pavegen. Pavegen harnesses the kinetic energy given by the compression of panels located in pedestrian sidewalks and roadways. The inhabitants of a city would be powering the device by continuing their daily routine. A minute amount of energy is collected as either foot or automobile tra�c crosses these panels. By utilizing these forms of energy, iCITY is essentially zero energy

Manhattan is one of the most densly populated cities in the world. Aside from its population, it’s also very easy to get lost in the over-whelming streets that seem to be endless. iCITY would become a node for these areas of interest both to tourists and Manhattan locals. iCITY gives you easy to understand directions that can be displayed on your smartphone. Aside from directions you can see the stock market screen as well as know the current weather conditions just by walking past. iCITY will become a point of interest that helps people see a side of New York few would get to see.

iCITY’s central node acts a hub for all of the other kiosks. The kiosk’s themselves act as node’s to for cab driver’s to pick up people who aren’t familiar with hailing a cab. Since it uses energy that is depen-dant on human and vehicle movement, there should never be a shortage of power in helping you access the data you need. Most im-portantly iCITY would com-pletely be zero-energy through the Pavegen technology combined with Manhattan’s heavy foot and vehicle tra�c.
