Engagement Status: PRYSM


• NDA & MOU Signed by PRYSM

• PRYSM is already in Production for SD & HD Cable Boxes

• PRYSM said to have produced and sold close to 140K Boxes so far

• PRYSM has secured commitment for close to 600K boxes so far for DAS3/4 areas, but deployment is slow due to DAS3 implementation court cases local cable operator level issues like financing, deployment readiness etc.


Engagement Status: ABS


• Meeting done with Managing Director and CTO of ABS

• Provided the iCAS presentation and answered the questions

• Explained the iCAS engagement process

• ABS is also a Cable Operator / MSO. They have successfully tested ICAS server along with their Head-End.

• ABS would be putting up their own STB Design team and partner with outsourced EMS facility to manufacture the boxes.

• ABS told that their initial requirement would be 100K Boxes for their test launch


Engagement Status: Smasher


• NDA & MOU Signed by Smasher

• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with Smasher

• Initially Smasher wanted to work on STM plaeorm, ByDeisgn had provided secure sample chips as well as SW deliveries . But Smasher stopped working on STM plaeorm as STM announced exit from the business.

• Smasher wants to use MSTAR plaeorm (5C35) on which iCAS was not integrated previously (5043), Smasher wants iCAS embedded samples of MSTAR chips

• Smasher would be getting the boxes manufactured at EMS facility.

• MSTAR Chip (5C35) samples are awaited by Sept 2016 end.


Engagement Status: Exza


• NDA & MOU Signed by Exza

• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with Exza

• Exza wants only basic CAS and would like to use their own software/ Middleware on the box

• ICAS delivery has been made, Integration work at Exza is in progress

• Exza wants to use MSTAR plaeorm (5C35) on which iCAS was not integrated previously (5043), Exza wants iCAS embedded samples of MSTAR chips

• Exza has requested for iCAS test server at their lab. ByDesign has agreed to lend the server for limited period (couple of weeks).

• As of now the integration/testing work is waiting for MSTAR chip samples (5C35, expected by end of Sept16) and test server.


Engagement Status: Aggressive Digital

• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with Aggressive

• Aggressive wants to use complete iCAS + MW + Ref Design from ByDesign

• 5 Samples boxes have been provided to Aggressive

• Reference Design has been shared with Aggressive, It is being modified to suit the external box design.

• Assembly Line Compliance requirements have been shared, Their questions have been answered. Aggressive is preparing the compliance against requirement, Once done ByDesign would audit the same.

• During last meeting, Aggressive shared their plans to get the box ready by end of Sept 2016.

• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with Catvision

• Catvision wants to use complete iCAS + MW + Ref Design from ByDesign

• 5 Samples boxes have been provided to Catvision

• Reference Design has been shared with Catvision, It is being modified to suit the external box design.

• ICAS+MW deliveries have been done

• Assembly Line Compliance requirements have been shared, Their questions have been answered. CATVISION is preparing the compliance against requirement, Once done ByDesign would audit the same.

• CATVISION wanted a design house who can modify the reference design and software as per their requirement of Physical Box, RC Handset, Start up logo and small software features, production jigs and fixtures etc. which is out of scope for ByDesign


Engagement Status: MCBS


• NDA & MOU Signed by MCBS• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with MCBS• MCBS wants to use complete iCAS + MW + Ref Design from ByDesign• MCBS wants to work on Cable Box and DoorDarshan Box as well they have in-

house Dish Antenna factory• Cable Reference Design has been shared with MCBS, It is being modified to

suit the external box design by MCBS• ICAS+MW deliveries have been done

• Assembly Line Compliance requirements have been shared, Their questions have been answered. MCBS is preparing the compliance against requirement, Once done ByDesign would audit the same.

• MCBS was setting up their own SMT Line, since last 3 months, it is now up and running.

• MCBS is waiting for DoorDarshan RFQ and STB Specs• MCBS is preparing the complete plan for the iCAS STB business, will be shared

once ready.


Engagement Status: SOLID

• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with SOLID

• SOLID wants to use complete iCAS + MW + Ref Design from ByDesign

• SOLID has produced first 200 Cable Box Samples for test deployment

• Cable Reference Design has been shared with SOLID, It is being modified to suit the external box design.

• Assembly Line Compliance requirements have been shared, Their questions have been answered. SOLID is preparing the compliance against requirement, Once done ByDesign would audit the same.

• Solid would do SMT assembly with outsourced EMS facility and box assembly in house.

• SOLID wanted a design house who can modify the reference design and software as per their requirement of Physical Box, RC Handset, Start up logo and small software features, production jigs and fixtures etc. which is out of scope for ByDesign

• Melbon wants iCAS Cable Ecosystem to bit mature and wants to know thecable operators who are using ICAS. Melbon wants to meet the iCAS cableoperators to understand their feedback.

• Melbon is interested in DoorDarshan DVB-S2 Box business. Waiting for Doordarshan to float the RFQ and Box Specs

• Melbon currently uses outsourced EMS partner and would do the the box assembly in house.

• Melbon wants to have a design house partner who can modify the reference design and software as per the box and RC handset.


Engagement Status: Salora


• Meeting done with Chairman of Salora and Head of Business



• Salora told that they are not interested in Cable Box business as it is too fragmented.

• Salora told that they are aware of Doordarshan DVB-S2 project. They are closely watching the developments and would decide once the RFQ and box specs gets published.


Engagement Status: Analog Systems


• ByDesign has met Analog Systems and presented ICAS details and process.

• Analog System wanted a design house who can modify the reference design and software as per their requirement of Physical Box, RC Handset, Start up logo and small software features, production jigs and fixtures etc. which is out of scope for ByDesign


Engagement Status: Willet


• NDA Signed by Willet

• Shared iCAS Presentation and answered their questions

• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with Willet

• Willet wants to use complete iCAS + MW + Ref Design from ByDesign

• Willet has a Design House in South India, who would modify the reference design to suit their box requirement

• Willet is putting up an SMT facility adjacent to their current BOX assembly line at Bahadurgad, Haryana.

• Willet might probably use Ali or MSTAR plaeorm, decision is yet to be known.


Engagement Status: RKEL


• Meeting done with Managing Director and Head of Business



• Ramakrishna told that they are interested in Cable Box business

• Ramakrishna is setting up a new SMT facility they would be able to do in house SMT and Box assembly once it is ready.

• Ramakrishna wants a design house who can modify the reference design and software to suit their requirements of Physical Box, RC Handset, Start up logo and small software features, production jigs and fixtures etc. which is out of scope for ByDesign


Engagement Status: MyBox


• Two rounds of meetings done with MyBox MD and VP

• They are not doing Cable STB business as of now

• MyBox philosophy is not to work with company that has both CAS and STB operations like Latance and Pace.

• Hence MyBox has taken in principle stand that they do not want to work on ICAS as of now.

• MyBox is attending the meetings at Doordarshan and appears to be interested in developing STB package business for DD.


Engagement Status: C-NET


• NDA & MOU Signed by C-NET

• Shared iCAS Engagement Details/ Process with C-NET

• C-NET philosophy is not to work with company that has both CAS and STB operations like Latence and Pace.

• Hence C-NET has taken in principle stand that they do not want to work on ICAS as of now.

• C-NET is attending the meetings at Doordarshan and appears to be interested in developing STB package business for DD.


Engagement Status: Logic Eastern


• E-Mail sent requesting for a face to face meeting, it is yet to receive a response.

• Meanwhile due diligence results show that Logic Eastern has their own CAS and Box business.

• Will follow up to secure a meeting to formally understand the willingness and commitment towards iCAS.


Engagement Status: Surabhi


• NDA has been shared with them, they are yet to respond.

• Will follow up and secure face to face meetings during next visit to Delhi.

• Meetings will be planned during first week of Sept 2016


Engagement Status: Laxmi Remote

• Laxmi Remote told that they also have their own CAS as well as STB, Hence they will NOT be in a position to work on iCAS
