Why ICAR-PG Exam ?
For Admission (AIEEA-PG) to
• 25% seats in Master Degree Programmes of Agricultural Universities
• 100% seats of ICAR Deemed to-be-Universities and
• award of ICAR-JRF (PGS) in agriculture & allied sciences (475 candidates) (2013 stat.)

General Scheme of Examination
• 150 multiple choice, objective type questions would be serially numbered from 1-150
• 10 cross-matching type questions would be serially numbered from 151-160
• Each correctly answered multiple-choice objective type question will earn four marks
• In matching type, 1 mark for each correct pairing
• Negative Marking: 1 mark deduction for multiple choice and 0.2 deduction for each matching type wrong answer
Evaluation & Declaration of Result
• Overall merit-rank list shall be prepared separately for every major subject-group
• Category-wise final merit list for counseling shall be prepared
• No Re-Checking/ Re-Evaluation of OMR Answer Sheets
• Based on the overall merit-rank, the candidate is allowed to take admission

• Non-JRF holders can try for few other fellowships or scholarships also
• Confidence building/ broad mindedness
(Many of the things cannot be measured !!!)
Problems/ Disadvantages
• Not advocated for home-sick students
• Language barrier ?? (An opportunity to learn more)
• No reason to study in other states
(Lets have a wider vision !!!)
Few tips/interesting facts
• Those who get good ICAR ranks may not be always university toppers.
• Be in touch with your seniors or friends who have excelled in ICAR exam
• Decide the subject and aim for it (Don’t be in dilemma about the subject)
• ICAR-PG exam is not everything !!! (Few professionals have excelled in other fields also)
