Below are the procedures for installing IBM WebSphere Application Server 5.0 for AIX atWebtone Technologies for Development.

Copy wsee5004.zip to the server where its to be installe!."nzip the file in the !irectory on the server where yo# copie! the file to. $%o# &ay have to install#nzip for ai' which yo# can (et here) **wtcltapps0+*C,-Apps*#blicApps*"nzip for AIX/

After #nzippin( the file c! to the ai'WAS50 !irectory an! e'ec#te 1.,a#ncha!.sh2/.

Note) If yo# r#n the ,a#ncha!.sh in the ai' !irectory3 IBM -- Server will not be installe!.

this point yo# sho#l! be able to lo(on to the a!&inconsole.

In settin( #p ltiple instances of SES an! A!&in-ool on the sa&e physical server3 apparentlythe properties.'&l file is not locate! by #sin( the WAS?@M= environ&ent variable.

When wsinstance is #se! to create another instance3 a !irectory str#ct#re is create! as well withitFs own set#pC&!,ine.sh script. -o start this instance3 yo# still #se the startServer.sh script in#srWebSphereAppServerbin. When the startServer.sh script is r#n3 it so#rces theset#pC&!,ine.sh script which sets WAS?@M= to #srWebSphereAppServer.

In the case of the secon! instance3 startin( the server wo#l! pic#p the '&l file in theWAS?@M= !irectory3 thereby pointin( the secon! instance to the sa&e application server asthe +st instance of the server.

If I place a properties.'&l file in the I:S-?@M= !irectory3 an! point it to a secon! applicationserver3 startin( the secon! instance will pic#p the '&l file an! connect the instance to the
