“What’s the technology behind Lotus Quickr?” Lotus Quickr is flexible and provides different deployment options –
to fit into your current environment Domino services - storing the content in an NSF-based repository
J2EE services - running on Portal and storing the content in a RDB
Domino and J2EE services can also be combined
And more good news...: Regardless of the option selected, it’s all in the Lotus Quickr box:
no other pre-requisites ($) are needed - except for the server OS
Installation is simple - very few clicks - and quick – in about an hour
But there are functional and non-functional differences between the deployment options:: In general, the Domino services provide more functionality than what is available with the
J2EE services, such as: offline access, extranet access, e-mail notification, forms/lists, replication, etc.
Most visible differences are planned to be addressed over next 12-18 months
