IBM InfoSphere Information Server simplified offerings include:

• IBM InfoSphere Business Information Exchange

IBM InfoSphere Business Information Exchange, a foundation offering acrossInfoSphere, is designed to deliver faster time to value, decrease project risk, andincrease overall governance of information by enabling a strong alignment betweenbusiness and IT team members. Some of the capabilities include the ability to definebusiness terms, automatically discover technical metadata, link business termsto technical metadata, and perform logical and physical data mapping and datalineage.

IBM InfoSphere Information Server for Data Quality helps enable faster time tovalue and improved governance for your information so that your data is moreaccessible, authoritative, consistent, timely, and in context for analysis andreporting and can better support your key business initiatives, such as master datamanagement, data warehousing, application consolidation and retirement, andbusiness intelligence. Some of the capabilities in this offering include data profiling,


deduplication, standardization, enrichment as well as data quality rule development,monitoring, and dashboarding.

Some of the capabilities in this offering include business friendly tooling for sourceto target mapping, world-class ETL (extract, transform, and load) capabilities,operations monitoring and management, and parallel processing.

IBM InfoSphere Information Server Enterprise Edition includes all the capabilities ofInfoSphere Business Information Exchange, InfoSphere Information Server for DataQuality, and InfoSphere Information Server for Data Integration.

All of these offerings are part of the IBM InfoSphere Information Server productfamily. IBM InfoSphere Information Server is a leader in data integration andincludes a common metadata server to support reuse and enhanced governance, aswell as capabilities to support creating managing project blueprints, to help improveproject visibility and decrease project risk.

Note: This product, Information Server Packages and offering chargeablecomponents and Information Server for Data Warehousing offering chargeablecomponents, includes entitlement to IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition V9.7 forspecific uses as defined within the software license. IBM DB2 offers increased dataprotection, scalability, and performance for database-intensive operations in orderto manage data more effectively and efficiently. Greater availability is deliveredthrough enhancements such as online, automated database reorganization. Inaddition, the increased scalability and the ability to leverage the latest in servertechnology help deliver increased performance of backup and recovery processes.

Planning information

Installability

Software Subscription and Support, also referred to as Software Maintenance,is included with licenses purchased through Passport Advantage and PassportAdvantage Express. Product upgrades and technical support are provided bythe Software Subscription and Support offering as described in the Agreements.Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software, andtechnical support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations,worldwide.

Charge metrics definitions

Authorized User

Authorized User is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. AnAuthorized User is an individual, named or unnamed, within or outside of yourenterprise. The program may be installed on one or more computers or serversand accessed by the number of users authorized by the Proof of Entitlement (PoE).You must have an entitlement for each Authorized User accessing the program orany program component in any manner directly or indirectly (for example, via amultiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means.

Processor Value Unit (PVU)

Processor Value Unit (PVU) is a unit of measure by which the program can belicensed. The number of PVU entitlements required is based on the processortechnology, defined within the PVU Table by processor value, brand, type, and modelnumber at the following website and by the number of processors made available tothe program.

IBM continues to define a processor, for the purpose of PVU-based licensing, to beeach processor core on a chip. A dual-core processor chip, for example, has twoprocessor cores.

Licensee can deploy the program using either Full Capacity licensing or VirtualizationCapacity (Sub-Capacity) licensing according to the Passport Advantage Sub-CapacityLicensing Terms (see webpage below). If using Full Capacity licensing, Licenseemust obtain PVU entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores(refer to notes below) in the physical hardware environment made available to ormanaged by the program, except for those servers from which the program hasbeen permanently removed. If using Virtualization Capacity licensing, Licensee mustobtain entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores made available




to or managed by the program, as defined according to the Virtualization CapacityLicense Counting Rules at

Notes:

• An Activated processor core is a processor core that is available for use in aphysical or virtual server, regardless of whether the capacity of the processorcore can be or is limited through virtualization technologies, operating systemcommands, BIOS settings, or similar restrictions.

• Some programs may require licenses for the program and what is beingmanaged. In that case, the following applies: In addition to the entitlementsrequired for the program directly, Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for thisprogram sufficient to cover the processor cores managed by the program.

• Some programs may be licensed on a managed basis only. In that case, thefollowing applies: Instead of the entitlements required for the program directly,Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover theprocessor cores managed by the program.

• A few programs on an exception basis may be licensed on a referenced basis.In that case, the following applies: Rather than obtaining entitlements for theactivated processor cores available to the program, Licensee must obtain PVUentitlements for this program sufficient to cover the environment made availableto the referenced program as if the program itself were executing everywherethe referenced program was executing, independent of the basis on which thereferenced program is licensed.

Manager Server

Managed Server is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. Aserver is a physical computer that is comprised of processing units, memory, andinput/output capabilities and that executes requested procedures, commands, orapplications for one or more users or client devices. Where racks, blade enclosures,or other similar equipment is being employed, each separable physical device (forexample, a blade or a rack-mounted device) that has the required componentsis considered itself a separate server. Licensee must obtain Managed Serverentitlements for each server managed by the program.

Licensing

IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment,it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodifiedportion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operationof the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible forthe results obtained from the use of the program.

IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licenseeacquires the program (warranty period).

Program technical support

Technical support of a program product version or release will be available for aminimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your SoftwareMaintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance,via telephone or electronic means, from IBM for product-specific, task-orientedquestions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. SoftwareMaintenance also provides you with access to updates (modifications or fixes),releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcementletter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additionaltechnical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond thediscontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. Thisextension may be available for a fee.

Money-back guarantee

For clarification, note that if for any reason you are dissatisfied with the programand you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paidfor it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE tothe party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you maycontact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain therefund.

• For clarification, note that for programs acquired under the IBM InternationalPassport Advantage Agreement, this term applies only to your first acquisition ofthe program.

Software Subscription and Support applies

Yes. Software Subscription and Support is included with licenses purchased throughPassport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express. Product upgrades andtechnical support are provided by the Software Subscription and Support offeringas described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest versions andreleases to entitled software and Technical Support provides voice and electronicaccess to IBM support organizations, worldwide.

IBM includes one year of Software Subscription and Support with each programlicense acquired. The initial period of Software Subscription and Support can beextended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.

While your Software Subscription and Support is in effect, IBM provides youassistance for your routine, short duration installation and usage (how-to) questions,and code-related questions. IBM provides assistance via telephone and, if available,electronic access, to your information systems (IS) technical support personnelduring the normal business hours (published prime shift hours) of your IBM supportcenter. (This assistance is not available to your end users.) IBM provides Severity 1assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For additional details, consult your IBMSoftware Support Handbook at
