The e-mail interface is based on an iterative command-and-response model, in some ways similar to that found on Telnet terminals.

When you send a command to DB2 Web Query Tool, there are many possible responses. It could be a list of additional available commands, a list of databases to connect to, a list of queries to run, or a data set in response to a query you just selected and launched.

What end users see in response to the various commands is highly configurable bythe DB2 Web Query Administrator, and can even be based upon the user’s logon ID or user group.
