IASA Announces Inaugural Collegiate Scholarship Recipients

Dallas, Texas – June 3, 2010 – Earlier this year, IASA announced the association’s new Insurance IndustryCollegiate Scholarship program. The scholarship program is targeted to aid students at the sophomore level or above who are enrolled in a university with an insurance program and whose course of study includes workingtoward a degree in Information Technology, Actuarial Science, Accounting or Risk Management.

Each year, IASA will award up to three $2,000 scholarships. This year, IASA is pleased to announce therecipients of the association’s scholarships are:

• Gabriel Cossio, University of South Carolinao Pursuing a degree in Risk Management / Entrepreneurial Management

• Joey Li, St. Thomas University

o Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science

• Aaron Schneider, Northwood Universityo Pursuing a dual degree in Accounting and Management

“Supporting the education of talented and worthy students is at the heart of what IASA is all about,” said JoePomilia, IASA Executive Director. “We were overwhelmed by the talent of the student submissions for thescholarship and their achievements so far in pursuing a career in insurance. Our three recipients have proven tobe dedicated not only to academic excellence, but to the betterment of themselves, their campuses andcommunities through service and leadership.”

This year’s winners will be recognized during the 2010 IASA Annual Educational Conference and BusinessShow, June 6-9th, in Grapevine, Texas.
