FINAL YEAR PROJECT 1 (FYP 1)


FYP MOTIVATION


FYP INTRODUCTION• FYP is a course that examine the competency and skill

level of student in handling a real project that relate to their study field.

• Student are allow to apply the knowledge that they gain throughout their study as a whole while they are undergo FYP.


FYP AND FCSIT, UNISEL• FYP in FCSIT categorized under either in one of the

following department:

• Department Computer Science • Cluster Software Engineering• Cluster Computer Science • Cluster Applied and Industrial Computing• Cluster Data Communication and Network

• Department Information Technology • Cluster Management Information System • Cluster Multimedia


FYP STRUCTURE

Project Proposal

Prepare project proposal (independently)

Duration: 2 weeks

Project Documentation 1

Conduct investigation regarding the topic and prepare documentation for presentation

Produce prototype

Duration: 12 weeks

Project Documentation 2

Develop and implementation of project that proposed during FYP 1

Duration: 14 weeks

FYP 1 COURSE PLANNING

Refer Planning – FYP 1


STAGE 1: PROJECT INITIAL TOPIC• Student are expected to formulate their topic

INDEPENDENTLY. (done)

• Topics sent to the dedicated cluster/department for their initial approval (week 2)

• Based on initial approval, SV will be suggested by department and confirmed by TDA

• SV list will be released to SV and Students (by week 2)


STAGE 2: PROJECT PROPOSAL PREPARATION• Discuss with SV to refine the topic and provide the

following details regarding your project:

• Title• Introduction • Problem Statement• Objective • Scope• Methodology• Significance

• Refer guideline for the detail description of each required section.


STAGE 3: PROJECT PROPOSAL APPROVAL/EVALUATION

• Project proposal will be send to SV for the recommendation/approval before proceed with project 1 report.

• Due date: week 5


STAGE 4: FYP1 REPORT PREPARATION• Duration given- 6-11

• Discuss with SV on the topic and FYP 1 report writing

• Refer guideline for the detail description of each required section.

• provide the following details regarding your project :

• Chapter 1: Introduction• Chapter 2: Literature review• Chapter 3: Research Methodology• Chapter 4: Analysis • Chapter 5: Design• References


STAGE 5: FYP 1 PRESENTATION• Week 12 – presentation

• Presentation estimated to be conducted for 3 days (based on students and assessor availability.

• Presentation detail will be further discussed during week 10


STAGE 6: CORRECTION SUBMISSION• Week 13-14 : students need to make correction and get

the concern from their SV.

• SV will check the correction based on the comment given by assessor.


PROJECT PROGRESS EVALUATION• Student are required to meet their SV every week to get

their guidance and present their progress.

• Refer project log book.

• You are required to meet supervisor every week and fill up the form. (fill up the form before meet and check together with your SV.

• Log book for each week need to submitted to admin office (will provide a box). You are not allowed to submit in bundle.

• Every end of the week the box will be collected by coordinator (marks on progress based on this).
