Curriculum Coffee Morning Tuesday 30th April, Wednesday 1st May & Thursday
2nd May, @ 9.00-9.30.
Mrs Malhi , Mr Talbot and Mrs Edgar would like to invite you to our curriculum coffee morning as we are really interested in discussing your views to help us create a new and exciting curriculum for September 2019.
Your ideas and thoughts for the new curriculum would be really appreciated so please do come along to one of the meetings. We hope to see you there and look forwards
to shoring your ideas.
***************ABSCENCS****************** At times we understand there will be pu-pils feeling unwell. However, please can we remind all parents that any absence must be reported to the school in the mornings. Please call 0208 320 1900 and
let us know your child’s name, class, and reason for absence.
School Lunches
We want to encourage as many children as possible to have a school lunch.
Making time for a healthy lunch can pay off both mentally and physically.
School Dinner Payments
School dinners have to be paid in advance. The cost of a school meal is £2.30 per day— £11.50 per week. Payments should be
made online via ParentMail: www.parentmail.co.uk.
Magic Breakfast - free Bagel
Pupils are invited to attend school from 8.30am for a free bagel. The doors close at 8.40am. We have noticed that some children are
arriving and being left unsupervised before 8am. This is a safeguarding
concern and we therefore remind parents that their child(ren) need to be supervised prior to the door being opened at 8.30am. Pupils should not be dropped off
prior to this time.
Did you know that being late 10 minutes each day is equivalent to 9 lost days of learning. 10
days of absence a year is equivalent to 2 weeks of lost learning.
Please only keep your children off if they really aren’t well enough to attend school as every day matters. Thank you!
Polite reminder…. Please can you call the school if your child is absent.
Mrs Tebble’s Wish List—Do you have any of these items hanging around at home that could be donated to the school?
Old wellington boots (pairs or the odd singles would be welcomed) Old pots pans cooking utensils (spoons, ladles sieves) Old Baking trays Paper Seedling trays Wildflower seeds Watering cans (small plastic).
School Time Obesity Programme (STOP)
Start date - Wed 1st May 2019
For the summer term we are running an exciting new programme to help with the prevention of obesity called STOP, it will run for 6 weeks for our Year 5 children. The aim of STOP is to educate children on healthy eating.
STOP will cover things such as: The health bene-fits of eating well, the importance of your 5 A DAY, food safety, cooking skills, and examining sugar and
Alive N Kicking is an afterschool club that runs for 10 weeks, where both children and parents from our school, alongside the local community, attend sessions to learn about healthy living, this is provided by a nutritionist and a fitness trainer.
This programme is run alongside the STOP programme and will also look at
healthy eating, sugary drinks, Healthy School Food, improving daily activity and 5 a day food tasting.
The sessions will be starting Wed 1st May 2019 3.45-9.00pm.
Free School Meals
You may be eligible to free school meals (FSM) for your child(ren) through a government funded scheme. We
want to encourage children to have a healthy lunch for their mental and physical health, so to find out if your child(ren) are
eligible for FSM, please use the following link in your internet browser to use the eligibility checker:
https://pps.lgfl.org.uk/
Smart Watches It has been drawn to our attention that a number of pupils are wearing chil-dren’s SMART watches which contain a camera facility. For safe-guarding reasons these are not permitted in school. Any pupil seen with one will be asked to remove it and the watch will be returned to parents or carer at the end of the day.
Also see the notice boards in the office lobby or the board out near the main entrance.
