Wish + Past Simple

To regret a PRESENT situation.

Wish + Past Perfect

To regret a PAST situation.

For example:

• I wish I had studied more. (I regret that I didn’t study enough)

• I wish I hadn’t said that. (I said something in the past and now I regret it)
