She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina, with internship and residency in anesthesia at Bethesda Naval Hospital and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at National Children's Hospital in DC. She is a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice, and an examiner for the World Institute of Pain. Dr. Trescot is board certified in anesthesia, pain management, interventional pain management and critical care. She is the past president of the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, past president of the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine, and past president of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. She was a pain clinic director in private practice for 20 years before she moved to academics. She returned to private practice in 2011. Fabrício Assis, MD, FIPP is immediate past president of the Latin American section of the World Institute of Pain (WIP) 2008-2011 and currently holds tenure as the secretary of this section 2011-2013. He is one of the founders of the Interventional Techniques Committee, established by the Brazilian Society for the Study of Pain (SBED), as well as its first vice-president 2006-2010, Dr. Assis is Scientific Director of this committee 2010-2012. He graduated in Medicine in 1995, and did his residency in anesthesiology at Instituto Penido Burnier in Campinas, São Paulo 1996-1997. A year later he became a certified pain specialist at the Universidad de Barcelona, Spain. In 2001 he began his work in interventional pain management, participating in courses and traineeships in Hungary, England, Turkey, the Netherlands, the US, and several other countries. In 2007 he became a WIP-certified Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP). Today Dr. Assis works at Singular – Pain Management Center and Instituto Wilson Mello in Campinas, SP, and is a member of the pain team at the Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital in São Paulo.

- offer current knowledge to orthopedists, anesthesiologists and neurosurgeons on the theory and practice of Interventional Pain Medicine techniques under fluoroscope guidance techniques, and discuss their indications and complications;- present interventional algorithms based on international protocols - standardize techniques for treating spinal and non-spinal pain

- anesthesiologist specialists, board-certified in interventional pain management by the Brazilian Society of Anesthesiologists (SBA)- orthopedists and neurosurgeons affiliated to the Brazilian Spine Association (SBC)
