can’t make it without You. Comfort my heart and give me strength, and help me carry on.
Experiencing troublesome feelings? Fear, anger, anxiety, stress, depression, sickness? Did you know that there are fellow parishioners will pray with you after mass? All reasons for prayer will remain confidential. Join us for Prayer Ministry on Sundays behind the altar after the 8:30 & 10:45 Masses. Believe in the power of prayer. Prayer is powerful and He can do anything.
October 13, 2019 28th Sunday of Ordinary Time
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria
and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voices, saying,"Jesus, Master! Have
pity on us!" ― Luke 17:11-13
Each time we celebrate the liturgy, we pray for mercy. Today's Gospel urges us to consider what we hope for in that prayer. Our friend the former leper shows up to remind us that if we are open, we can receive more than we can imagine. All the moms in heaven would tell us that if we ask for mercy, Jesus will make it all better.
Scripture Readings 2 Kings 5:14-17 Psalm 98 2 Timothy 2:8-13 Luke 17:11-19
We would like to welcome the newest member of our faith family:
Morgan Nicole Kubiak, the daughter of Colin and Mia, baptized on October 6, 2019.
A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar 28th Sunday – Everyone needs “A Round Tuit.” The lepers in today’s gospel probably meant to thank Jesus. Excited about being cured they didn’t get ‘around-to-it.’ We get caught up in our own interests and fail to appreciate what we have or to say what is in our hearts. This week get yourself a “Round Tuit.”
Social Justice Meeting
Monday, October 21st at 7:00 pm (Rel Ed Center) What is Social Justice? Looking out for those who cannot look out for themselves is one way of answering the question. Please join us in the discussion about being disciples for Jesus. Here is the previous & current list of actions: food drives; student paper goods collected for hospice; student backpacks with school supplies; parishioners feeding those who are burying their loved ones; 1000's of sandwiches made by all for the hungry; the Christmas tree decorated w/messages from parents unable to buy for their children; & birthday cakes for inner city kids.
Question of the Week Saying Thank You
Whose generosity do you tend to take for granted? How will you change this?
