Principal

Dr. Somi Sebastian started his career as a lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering in

1991 and had the opportunity to associate with the leading self-financing institutions of Tamilnadu.He

joined Sree Buddha group of educational institutions as Professor and Head of The Department of

Electronics and Communication Engineering, Sree Buddha College of Engineering Pattoor, Nooranad

and served as Principal from 2009 onwards. He took charge as the Principal of Sree Buddha College

of Engineering, Ayathil, Elavumthitta from June 2016.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission is as per the guidelines issued by Govt. of Kerala, following mandatory reservation.

Presently 50% of the seats (30 seats in each branch) are filled by the Commissioner of Entrance

Examinations, Govt. of Kerala as per the rank list of Engineering Entrance Examination.

Remaining 50% of the seats (30 seats in each branch) are Management seats. (a). Minimum

Marks for Admission:

Management or NRI quota should obtain 50% or more in Mathematics, and an average of 50%

or more in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry put together at plus two/Higher Secondary level.

Training is imparted to the new faculty members by senior faculty members and external training

agencies. Teachers prepare class notes at the commencement of the semester under the guidance of

the experienced faculty members. Students feed back will be made available to the faculty for self

improvements

Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good governance

Periodic meetings of the members of the faculty are convened by the Principal and Chairman to

discuss academic, co-curricular and other administrative matters. Meetings of the representatives of

the students are convened and there are considered in taking decisions.

Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/faculty performance

Students feedback will be collected periodically regarding the performance of the faculty and the

general facilities in the college.

Grievance Redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students

A Grievance cell is functioning in the college, which looks into the complaints of faculty, staff

members and students of the college. Being a Women’s College, a separate committee consisting of

lady faculty members looks after the welfare of the students. Anti-ragging measures are taken and

Anti-ragging Committee and Anti-ragging Squad are formed as prescribed by the authorities.
