‘I FEEL LOVE’ Act One RISE LIKE A PHOENIX (Brian/Chorus) MISS JASON ENTERS UP AISLE SINGING ‘TAINTED LOVE’ TAINTED LOVE/I FEEL LOVE (Miss Jason/Chorus) Miss Jason Chat WELCOME (Chris J will give details of dignitaires) "Rise Like a Phoenix" is a song performed by Austrian singer Conchita Wurst, and the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 Tainted Love A total failure when released in 1965 and 1976, it was Soft Cell’s “make or break” moment when, having been majorly rearranged (slowing the tempo and dropping the key), it was released by them in 1981 with the record label about to drop them if it was a failure. Luckily for them (and us) it was a hit. Marc Almond recorded the vocals in one take. "I Feel Love" is a song by Donna Summer, taken from her 1977 concept album I Remember Yesterday. It quickly became popular in gay dance clubs and was adopted as a gay anthem.[1] "I Feel Love" is ranked #418 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. "I Feel Love" was added to the National Recording Registry in 2012. Miss Jason Chat When you tell me that you love me – 1991 Originally released by Diana Ross in 1991, it was beaten to the Christmas No 1 by 200 or so copies of a rerelease of Bohemian Rhapsody following the tragic death of Freddie Mercury. After several covers (notably Julio Iglesias with first Dolly Parton and then Chinese singer, Coco Lee) it was rereleased by Westlife with Diana Ross in 2005 and again missed the Christmas No 1, again by about 200 copies. All Out Of Love – 1980 Has been featured in many films and tv shows – The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Home of Phobia, The Wedding Date (filmed in Surrey), Dumb & Dumberer, South Park and The Dukes of Hazzard to name a few ! It has been covered by Cliff Richard, West Life and John Barrowman. Secret Love" is a popular song written in 1953 with music by Sammy Fain and lyrics by Paul Francis Webster.[2] Its first performance was in the film Calamity Jane by Doris Day. It received an Academy Award for Best Original Song. WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME (Miss Jason/Chorus) ALL OUT OF LOVE (Chris/Aaron/Chorus) SECRET LOVE (Chorus)

Miss  Jason  Chat  –  welcome  back  etc

"Somewhere Only We Know" is considered the band Keane's first major commercial release, becoming one of the greatest hits of 2004 worldwide and peaking on the UK charts at number three during its first week of sale.

Someone  Like  you  –  Adele  2011

"I  wrote  that  song  on  the  end  of  my  bed.  I  had  a  cold.  I  was  waiting  for  my  bath  to  run.  I'd  found  out  that  my  ex,  of  18  months,  had  got  engaged  to  someone  else  6  months  after  leaving  me.”    No  1  for  5  weeks.

SOMEWHERE  ONLY  WE  KNOW  (Mark/Chorus)  SOMEONE  LIKE  YOU  (Chorus)

 Miss  Jason  Chat

Just as Tony and Maria, our Romeo and Juliet, set themselves apart from the other kids by their love, so we have tried to set them even further apart by their language, their songs, their movement. Wherever possible in the show, we have tried to heighten emotion or to articulate inarticulate adolescence through music, song or dance.

I  Believe  –  1953  "I  Believe"  was  commissioned  for  an  American  television  show,  and  became  the  first  hit  song  ever  introduced  on  TV.    It  was  commissioned  after  the  host,  Jane  Froman,  troubled  by  the  uprising  of  the  Korean  War  in  1952  so  soon  after  World  War  II,  as  a  song  that  would  offer  hope  and  faith  to  the  populace.  Again  a  song  with  many  covers,  Louis  Armstrong,  Robson  &  Jerome,  Perry  Como,  Elvis  Presley,  The  Bachelors,  Barbara  Streisand.  Frankie  Laine's  version  spent  eighteen  non-‐consecutive  weeks  at  the  top  of  the  UK  Singles  Chart.
