DEPARTMENT OF MULTIMEDIA & ANIMATION : DEPARTMENTAL REPORT 2013-14 I. Departmental Activities: 1. The department of Animation Design has conducted “A Claymodeling Exhibition and Workshop” named – Artifact - The Art Fest on 05-8-2013 and 06-8-13 recpectively, at Loyola Academy Degree and PG College. Old Alwal Sec-bad-500010. Purpose: The purpose of this workshop and exhibition is to demonstrate learning through experiments and bringing there inner talents out. They not only learn to be patience and dadicated but also learn how to maintain the proportions and shapes of the characters and assets from the reference they choose to do. And during there work exhibition students get the feedback of their effort by meeting the industry and subject experts. Report: The fest was conducted on 05-8-2013 and 06-8-13. Art filled the space of the hall and represented itself to its best. The first day was very interactive as the local school students visited our fest to know more about art. The speech by our Chief Guest Mr.pete Drapper (Co - Founder of "Makkuta VFX") .It was great to see the little kids joining us and making this event a great success. From tiny chalk sculptures to metal and clay models, the hall was bubbling with art and enthusiasm. I. Departmental Activities:

1. The department of Animation Design has conducted “A Claymodeling Exhibition

and shapes of the characters and assets from the reference they choose to do.

And during there work exhibition students get the feedback of their effort by

meeting the industry and subject experts.

Report: The fest was conducted on 05-8-2013 and 06-8-13. Art filled the space

of the hall and represented itself to its best. The first day was very interactive as

the local school students visited our fest to know more about art. The speech by

our Chief Guest Mr.pete Drapper (Co - Founder of "Makkuta VFX") .It was

great to see the little kids joining us and making this event a great success. From

tiny chalk sculptures to metal and clay models, the hall was bubbling with art

and enthusiasm. To plant the seed of art into everyone, we conducted two events

which were spot painting and rapid fire. We could see steady competition among

the students.

Review: To put it in nutshell the event served the purpose. Students gained

enough knowledge by interacting with experts and school students for the

hardwork. Students had good interaction with the industry experts so as to have

internships for their carrier skills.

It’s my privilege to be a part of painting exhibition on the occasion of bio

diversity summit Hyderabad.

III. Industrial Visits:

1. Department of Animation Design took students of 2nd

Year to visit MEL Studios in

Mumbai and FTII in PUNE and RHYTHM & HUES IN MUMBAI from 02-02-14 to

10-02-14.

Purpose: To impart knowledge to the students in the fields of Animation , Movie Making ,

film making and Visual Advertising, with its enormous uses along with the pipeline of its

creation, and interaction with industry experts and get them aware with present

requirements in the industry along with the pipeline process and the work nature.

Report: Students from Animation Design of Loyola Academy Degree & PG College

participated in Seminar and had a great experience by attending the event which was very

innovative in all field cores of animation. They have shared their views and knowledge with

respect to their works in different movies.

Review: The students have extremely benefitted from the seminar and are now better

equipped with the knowledge of ongoing market requirement of the industry and had

interaction with professionals in various fields. The session was very interactive and lively.

The varied speakers were glad to be a part of the seminar, where the outlook was to have

interaction and get awareness in the field of movies, Advertising and present trending

gaming aspects. It opened wide doors for exchange of new ideas, bringing people in the

same field under one roof. Frequent questions and relevant examples kept them hooked to

the talk.

I. Departmental Activities:

1. DEPARTMENT: B.Sc Animation Design

DATE OF WORKSHOP & EXHIBITION: 8th

September to 16th

September, 2014.

A clay modeling workshop was held in the college campus from 8 to 16 of September 2014.

The Animation department of Loyola Academy, Old Alwal, had a workshop

named „ARTIFEST‟ regarding clay modelling for 1 week starting from 6th

of

September. It saw the participation of students of all the batches (1st yr- 3

rd yr) of

animation department.

This workshop is conducted to ensure that the students understand the basics of

art like the proportions, shapes, curves etc which will come in handy in their

understanding of their subjects and softwares like Maya and for future dealings

with sculpture making, character design etc.

This time with clay modelling the students took part in various other forms of art

and craft which were-

Installation art

Pottery making

Manual artworks (paintings, sketches etc)

Digital artworks

Clay modelling

Sketchings

The students were given guidance by talented people and artists in their own

rights-

The models and artworks were exhibited in the Inigo hall in Loyola Academy on

15th and 16

th of September. This time around the art was celebrated with a new

idea. Students from another courses also got the chance to showcase their hidden

talent in arts and craft like chalk art, pen sketches etc. Also there were

competitions like the spot painting, painting and art quiz held by department

which saw students from the same and other colleges alike participating with

vigour.

The efforts put by the students and faculty were highly appreciated by the guests

and the onlookers. Highly acclaimed animation studios, Rhythm and Hues and

Element 6 came to see the hard work and exchanged their views on the

technicalities regarding the subject to the students. Rhythm and Hues also showed

some of their works to encourage the students to do their best and gave them ideas

on how to broaden their scope of work field and improve the quality.

Long gone the days when playing with clay was called a child’s play. The

department of animation design has managed to amaze the spectators with

the abundance of talents regarding arts and made the moulding of clay as a

serious business with lots of fun. It is a celebration to the art, aptly named the

‘ARTIFEST’.

2. We Animation Department visited to JNAFU along with students of 2nd

Year and 3rd

for art exhibition and “INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION DAY” conducted by ASIFA

India on 23nd

January, 2015 at Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad ,Telangana.

Purpose: To impart knowledge to the students in the field of Movie Making & Visual

Effects, with its working knowledge on the pipeline of its creation with industry

experts and get them aware with the pipeline process and the work nature that the

experts have done as a client work for production

Report: All the industry experts have come and shared their views and knowledge

with respect to their works on movies.

Review: The seminar was quite appreciable. The varied speakers were glad to be a

part of the seminar, where the outlook was to have interaction and get awareness in the

field of movies, vfx and present trending virtual reality , augmented reality. It opened

wide doors for exchange of new ideas, bringing people in the same field under one

roof. Students had enough opportunities to meet and interact with the industry experts

to know the present requirements that are needed in the market .The students happily

received the lectures and clarified their doubts. Students gained immense knowledge

with the session.

INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION DAY CELEBRATIONS

Mr. B.Bhaskara Rao and students of animation design attended international

animation day film festival conducted by ASIFA India on the eve of its

international animation day. The best animation films were screened. Technical

experts from animation and advertising industry shared their experience.

Rhythm & Hues Studios and prana studios It was a fruitful experience for the

students as well as the lectures. The ambience in the studios was wonderful which

inspired each one of them and forced them to do something real big in their field.

They were taken to each department and their doubts were given attention. The

entire session was very interactive the head of the studio shared his knowledge

with students will always use it in their life he told “technologies anyone can

learn, it‟s not a big deal but don‟t let the art in you die. Once the art is dead, you

have lost your soul”. It was a great experience for all of them.

IV. STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS:

1. Animation design students took part in- The Comic Con at Hitex Exhibition Center,

Hyderabad – on October 10, 11 and 12-2014.

2. Aakriti singh , a 1st year student of animation design got an opportunity to attend a

national conference “NATIONAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR

" which was conducted by AIESEC in silvassa, Mumbai from September 14th -

21st 2015

3. Second year students of Animation have participated in various events such as in focus film

festival, they made Documentary‟s for infocus.Also they have participated in International

ministry Organization film festival held at Nagpur Feb2014. Students who participated in the

film festival: Andrew John, Noel Sudhir, Raghudeep, sampath, shyambandugula, Kevin

CrastaAlgor and rahul.

DEPARTMENTAL REPORT 2015-16

I. Departmental Activities:

The Animation Department of Loyola Academy, Old Alwal, organized

a 6 days Clay Modeling workshop from Sept 3rd

to 8th

2015. The

workshop had the participation of the students of the first, second year

and third year students of the B Sc (Animation) course.

The Clay modeling workshop is held every year to help students to

gain an understanding about proportions, shapes and curves which is

helpful while using computer applications like Maya for designing for

animation.

The Clay Modeling Workshop this year was conducted by Department

of Animation Design. MrBhishma Chary, A traditional sculptor is the

Resorce person for the workshop.Under guidance of Head of the

Department Mr.Bhaskararaoand the Faculty. Our B.Sc. (Animation)

students were encouraged to use their imagination and creativity with

clay, beginning with small objects and moving on to bigger ones.

The models made during the workshop were displayed in Inigo Hall in

Loyola Academy on Sept 9th

and 10th

2015. The main attractions of

Exhibition are the Buddha, Michel Jackson, dinosaur, robots and

mermaid and the best part of the workshop was that they have used eco-

friendly material like natural clay, paper and wood to prepare the

models.

Main motto of this show to go green, stop polythene, plaster of Paris.

This exhibition inaugurated by Mr Ravi Korukonda, CEO of Purple talk

and the guest of honour was Mr B. Sathya(Film director) a national

award winner and Principal father K.S Casmir.

I. Departmental Activities:

1. The department of Bsc. Animation Design has conducted “A Claymodeling Workshop

And Exhibition” from 12-8-2016 to 23-8-16 at Loyola Academy Degree and PG College.

Old Alwal Sec-bad-500010.

We the department of Bsc. animation design, loyola academy ug & pg college, alwal, are

conducting the art fest, "AALEKH" held on 23rd

of august and promoting art and unleashing the

creativity hidden in students. It includes clay modelling workshop and many other activities

such as best out of waste, Drawing, and Painting which ended on 23rd of august. The fest was

inaugurated by Rev Fr. Principal C.S.Casamir accompanied by chief guest of the event.

Many schools and colleges visited the fest and were moved by the skill of the students and

greatly appreciated the artworks. Apart from these a spot painting competition was held which

was open for outsiders as well as students of other departments.

To put it in nutshell the event served the purpose. Students gained enough knowledge by

interacting with experts and school students for the hardwork.Students had good rapo with the

industry experts so as to have internships for their carrier skills.We are excited and humbled to

present and produce more art works in the future for the greater glory of God.

I. Departmental Activities:

1. The department of Multimedia & Animation has conducted “A Claymodeling

Workshop And Exhibition” named - Aalek The Art Fest from 23-8-2017 to 30-8-17

and 31-8-2017 to 1-9-2017 recpectively, at Loyola Academy Degree and PG College. Old

Alwal Sec-bad-500010.

Purpose: The purpose of this workshop and exhibition is to demonstrate learning

through experiments and bringing there inner talents out. They not only learn to

be patience and dadicated but also learn how to maintain the proportions and

shapes of the characters and assets from the reference they choose to do. And

during there work exhibition students get the feedback of their effort by meeting

the industry and subject experts.

Report: With art being our main motive, we began our workshop from 23-8-2017 to 30-

8-17. The fest was conducted on 31-8-2017 and 1-9-2017. Art filled the space of

the hall and represented itself to its best. The first day was very interactive as the

local school students visited our fest to know more about art. The speech by our

Chief Guest Mr. Dileep Varma (Director and Co - Founder of "The Circus") and

a guest lecture by Pixelloid were educational and inspiring. It was great to see

the little kids joining us and making this event a great success. From tiny chalk

sculptures to metal and clay models, the hall was bubbling with art and

enthusiasm. To plant the seed of art into everyone, we conducted two events

which were spot painting and rapid fire. We could see steady competition among

the students. Day one ended with a music note and kept us waiting for the next

day.

As the day began, we could see many school students visiting us. It was a

great pleasure to spend time with the kids and share our experience about art and

Purpose: To impart knowledge to the students in the field of film making and its

composition in editing, with advertising & television industry and making them aware

Report: Mr. Sateesh Kumar the Founder/Owner of Scintilla Kreations has been to

Loyola Degree and PG College for a guest lecture for the department of

B.Sc.Multimedia and Animation. We were overwhelmed to have his amongst us. Mr.

Sateesh Kumar is one the most renounced and experienced technician and the television

and advertising industry from the past 2 decades. He has an efficient crew of more than

50 people and a count of more than 100 satisfied customers.

Mr. Sateesh Kumar has interacted in a very friendly with all the students of the

department of Multimedia and Animation. He has given a brief description on what

advertising and television industry is all about. He explained us the journey of his

beginning and establishment of his startup company „Scintilla Kreations Pvt. Ltd‟. He

noted that they are one of the top 10 advertising agencies presently in the city.

Review: The lecture was received with the increase appreciation. He advised us that

experience is more important than the amount we earn. He showcased the structure of

his company and the works that their staff do. He answered all the questions in a

friendly manner. He explained what add champagnes‟ actually mean. It made the

I. Departmental Activities:

1. The department of Multimedia & Animation has conducted “A Claymodeling

Workshop And Exhibition-MAGNUM OPUS-EVERYTHING IS A

MASTERPIECE” from 23-07-2018 to 01-08-18, at Loyola Academy Degree and PG

College, Old Alwal, Sec-bad-500010.

Purpose: The purpose of this workshop and exhibition is to demonstrate learning

through experiments and bringing there inner talents out. They not only learn to

be patience and dedication but also learn how to maintain the proportions and

shapes of the characters and assets from the reference they choose to do. And

students gain overall exposure on all areas of art and creativity fields, during this

workshop and exhibition students get the feedback of their effort by meeting and

getting suggestions from the industry and subject experts.

Report: With art being our main motive, we began our workshop from 23-07-2018 to

29-07-18. The fest was conducted on 30-07-2018 and 01-08-2018. Art filled the

space of the hall and represented itself to its best. The first day was very

interactive as the local school students visited our fest to know more about art.

The speech by our Chief Guest Mr. Pete Draper (Co-Founder of "Makuta vfx

") and a guest of honor Samudrala Surendra a were educational and inspiring.

The fest began by welcoming God‟s presence followed by the principal‟s speech

It was great to see the little kids joining us and making this event a great success.

The students had the time of their life which helped them to know

each other as one family. The CEO of Gamitronics Mr.Rajat Ouja who is the

pride of all the game developers and game creators. Mr. Rajat Singhal the

CEO from Hitwicket Gaming Company has a long list of achievements and

his contribution to the modern gaming enticed all the game lovers followed by

Praneeth Gunuputi an Indie developer who shared their views on modern day

gaming. As the day began, we could see many school students visiting us. It was

a great pleasure to spend time with the kids and share our experience about art

and animation.

As it was the tenth year of animation fest, after the valedictory there was a cake

cutting ceremony. The art fest was truly a step ahead for the connection of art

to the human life and it ended on a positive note to come back some other day

Review: The seminar and the entertainment expo was quite appreciable. The varied

speakers from different countries have come and interacted with students and we were glad to

be a part of the seminar given by UBISOFT Gaming company,the main purpose of the event

was to have interaction and get awareness in the respective fields of movies, vfx and present

trending mobile apps mobile games with VR & AR. It opened wide doors for exchange of new

ideas, bringing people in the same field under one roof. Students had enough opportunities to

meet and interact with the industry experts to know the present requirements that are needed in

the market .students had good exposure on many session on “Portfolio creation:How to

showcase yourself to get that art or design role you want”.

Purpose: The purpose of this workshop and exhibition is to demonstrate learning

through experiments and bringing there inner talents out. They learn how to maintain

the proportions and shapes of the characters and assets from the reference they

choose to do. While sticking to the theme, „Evolution of Animation‟. Models of

various characters from Disney, Pixar and Dream works animation were showcased

on the final days of workshop, from this students gain overall exposure on all areas of

art and creativity fields and getting suggestions from the industry and subject experts.

Report: With art being our main motive, we began our workshop from 18-07-2019

to 28-07-19. The fest was conducted on 01-08-2019 and 02-08-2019. Art filled the

space of the hall and represented itself to its best. The first day was very interactive

as the local school students visited our fest to know more about art. The speech by

our Chief Guest Mr. Basireddy,(Chairman and Managing Director of Digiquest

Animation) accompanied by Sayyad Junaid Ghouri, General Manager at Digiquest

Animation as well. The fest began by welcoming God‟s presence followed by the

principal‟s speech It was great to see the little kids joining us and making this event a

great success.

The students had the time of their life which helped them to know

each other as one family. Those 2 days were a fiesta of various arts forms both

traditional as well as modern including paintings, drawings, artworks,

craftworks, photography displays, digital art and many other unique and creative

art depictions which were followed by various dance performances as well as

musical performances. The department also conducted PUBG game contest for

the students to participate and win prizes along with other events like face

painting, drawing and digital painting competitions.

Review: From the workshop & exhibition students gained enough knowledge by

interacting with experts and school students for the hardwork. The art fest was truly a

step ahead for the student to learn and interact as learning is never ending process.

The fest was not only an event of amusement and entertainment but an educational

trip for students from various schools who were exposed what the field of arts is
