Acknowledgements

Innovation is the basis for sustained economic growth and prosperity. The 2nd International Conference on Inclusive

Innovation and Innovative Management-ICIIIM -2014 is organized because of the growing importance of inclusive

innovation and innovative management in all spheres of this globalized world. This conference has resulted to this

volume, and this work would not have been possible without the approval of the Project by the President of Valaya

Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage (VRU). As a coordinator of the ICIIIM 2014, first of all,

I would like to express my gratitude to Asst. Professor Dr. Sa –Ard Banchirdrit, the Vice President of Valaya

Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage (VRU) and the Head of International Relations and

International Academics, for recruiting me as a coordinator of the 2nd ICIIIM 2014. Being a new comer with no

experience in this field, I have to work harder than being a teacher to make it a successful conference. However, with

the guidance and support of our VP and other team members, I think I am able to achieve the mission of coordinating

the 2nd ICIIIM 2014.

My first task is to send invitation letters to the faculty members of each and every University which I can get contact

address from the internet. Initially, I got a few response even though I have sent multiple mails to them. I felt

disheartened but I kept on trying by sending repeated e mails and offering them the benefits of the Conference to bring

their interest to the Conference. I tried to get more contact from many internet sources. Gradually, some of the invitees

responded to my invitation and they started sending their contributions.

Therefore, I am very thankful to all these contributors and participants, who contributed to the success of the

conference by sharing their knowledge in various ways and for spending their valuable time and money to attend the

conference for two days.

The submitted papers have been double blind peer reviewed before final submission to be accepted as papers for oral

presentation in the conference. Many thanks to the reviewers, Prof. Brian Sheeshan, President Asian Forum for

Business Education, Prof. M.A. Akkas, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka and Prof. Fernando Cardoso

de Sousa of APGICO (Portuguese Association for Creativity and Innovation) for reviewing the papers meticulously

in spite of their busy schedule and for giving valuable comments.

Also, many thanks go to the staffs of the Department of International Relations and International Academics such as

Ajarn Dr. Rojjannant Songyoo, Ajarn Daniel G., Ms. Nahatai Grasaesen, Ms. Wilunda Kajonpai and Mrs. Oranoot

Auetragul for helping, extending cooperation and support in every steps of the Conference. Special thanks go to Mrs.

Oranoot Auetragul, who prepared the Conference Website, Brochure and for formatting the accepted papers.

Lastly, as mentioned earler, we are living in a globalized world and we need innovative practices in every fileds, be it

business or otherwise, if we want to be successful. Creating a culture of innovation is important for any organization

that wishes to grow. In other words, the most successful individual managers and team leaders in latest business world

are the ones who are not only innovative in their own work, but who encourage and assist others to be innovative in

every aspect of their work. It is not only to develop new products and services, new processes and structures to improve

performance in diverse areas, organizational creativity but also to excel in the field in which they are operating.

and with the Commencement and Development of The ASEAN Economic Community

(AEC) in 2015

Brian Sheehan

Asian Forum on Business Education (AFBE)

Bangkok, Thailand, [email protected]

Abstract - The theme of this Conference is concerned with Inclusive Innovation in Thailand which is an

important topic in its own right but in this paper I wish to try to marry the concept of Inclusive Innovation

with the concept of the Sufficiency Economy in Thailand coupled with its entry into the ASEAN Economic

Community (AEC) as one of its founding members, in 2015. Of course, Inclusive Innovation is important

without attempting to directly or indirectly associate it with the Sufficiency Economy, however, in my view,

one can see a relationship or a relationship can be developed between these two important concepts. The

commencement of the AEC will impact on Thailand and its Inclusive Innovation, as well of course, on that

of the other members of the AEC.

Inclusive Innovative Management: The Promise, Problems and Possibilities

Jitendra Mohan

Department of Psychology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, INDIA;

E-mail address: [email protected]

Abstract - Inclusive innovative management involves cultivating a broad culture change to strengthen our

innovation capability globally, through a blend of top-down strategic alignment and bottom-up energy and

creativity, through a global partnership. The aim is to evolve a psychosocial strategy of inclusive innovative

management complemented by an increase in human value and happiness.

Inclusive innovative management involves the need for an integrated analysis of economic, social and

political activities, incorporating a variety of institutions and many interactive agencies, and in particular,

the roles and interconnections between certain crucial instrumental freedoms, including economic

opportunities, political freedoms, social facilities, transparency guarantees, and protective security.

Complementing these is the significant contribution of societal arrangements, involving many institutions

(the state, the market, the legal system, the academia, political parties, the media, public interest groups and

public discussion forums, among others), to enhancing and guaranteeing the substantive freedoms of

individuals, seen as active agents of change, rather than as passive recipients of dispensed benefits (Sen,

1999). Because at the heart of all innovation lies the human factor, identified as its soul and purpose

(Banerjee, 2014).

Keywords – innovation, creativity, inclusive management, human factor, happiness index

Abstract - This paper is a contribution to the discussion in the International Conference on Inclusive

Innovation and Innovative Management (ICIIIM 2014). This paper aimed to observe the connection

between innovation and knowledge sharing in developing countries. There is increasing evidence that

knowledge is a key building block for the innovation process. However, innovation and knowledge sharing

are two concepts that seem to have complex relationship, but they actually synergize each other. Knowledge

is a fertile ground for innovation to sprout and vice versa, innovation depends on knowledge sharing.

Knowledge sharing has implication for innovation capability and innovation performance. In the past

decade, the increased opportunities for locally inspired innovations begun to emerge as larger numbers of

developing countries also known as South countries such as Brazil, India, and China free themselves of

massive dependency on technology from industrial countries

Inclusive Innovation in Healthcare in India

Guneet Inder Jit Kaur

E-mail address: [email protected]

Abstract – Innovation is an inherently human endeavour at its most effective level. Successful innovation

happens when people with skills, experience, and capabilities come together to understand or predict, and

then address challenges. Talent, like capital and technology, is also a key success factor for innovation.

Whereas, inequity is a principal cause of discontent, inequality and financial deprivation undermine the

creation of an inclusive society. In the healthcare sector product innovations have enhanced the spreading

of interventions in preventive, curative and rehabilitative areas, while process innovations have increased

overall efficiency and effectiveness. Yet, research and innovation must persist to provide affordable access

to quality health goods and services, and for creating healthy livelihood opportunities for the excluded

population on a long term sustainable basis. This paper will shed light on the current advancement and recent

initiatives in the healthcare sector of India, in terms of innovative and inclusive healthcare.

Environmental Revitalization: Ramdarbar shows the Way

Manoj Kumar Teotia

Assistant Professor, Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID)

Sector 19A, Madhya Marg, Chandigarh 160019, India; [email protected]

Abstract - The lack of participation of local communities in the urban environmental revitalization of

segregated settlements in India including Chandigarh has been a major constraint in the inclusive urban

development and sustainability. Ramdarbar, a rehabilitated colony of Chandigarh experienced degeneration

in its environmental fabric, which was exaggerated in 1980s due to the rapid growth of population. The

participation of local citizens was nil in management of sanitation, park management, protection of urban

forestry/ environment in neighborhoods of Ramdarbar until mid 1990s. The situation started changing after

1997 when urban revitalization initiatives were started with the involvement of local people. The local

elected Councilor mobilized the people in the initial phase. The citizens voluntarily demolished extended

boundaries of their houses, removed animal shelters/other encroachments from about 90 parks and

contributed labor and money for developing parks. The local initiative programme was strengthened by

constituting a Neighborhood Revitalization Committee by the local people. The paper, relying on secondary

data, field visits, informal discussions, observations and review of literature/ news papers, has analyzed the

dynamics of local people’s movement in the urban environmental revitalization of Ramdarbar, with a view

to seeing its necessity and replicability for mending environmental fabric of other segregated urban

settlements for inclusive urban development.

Abstract - Gender discrimination in land ownership in productive assets such as land can be seen all over

the world. This has a direct bearing on women’s status. One of the reasons for this was found gender unequal

laws/policies and also the prevailing socio-cultural value system. Many developing countries have enacted

laws, framed policies and amended constitutions to guarantee the rights of women on an equitable basis. In

order to empower women economically, some of the Indian states have initiated a scheme of providing

concession in the duty to women registering property in their name. The programme is based on the basic

premise that ownership of productive resources by women would make them socially and economically

Abstract - In this paper we delineate success factors underpinning innovative business models for inclusive

healthcare. By bridging the literature on disruptive innovation and the scholarly work addressing business

model innovation for the low-income consumers, we observe that successful business formulas providing

healthcare to the low-income population of the world are crafted to maximize not only affordability and

availability but also patients’ acceptability and awareness of the care services. This paper sheds new

light on how to make healthcare from affordable to inclusive, by means of market based approach. Further,

it highlights eight crucial mechanisms underpinning successful business models for inclusive healthcare,

namely patient empowerment, community-bonding, technological innovation, import substitution, scale

economies, cross-subsidization, focus on medical personnel and management of key alliances.

Keywords - Business Model Innovation, Emerging Economies, Healthcare

Abstract - This research aimed to study and compare effects of learning environmental education using the

7 E-learning cycle approaching with multiple intelligences and the traditional method on knowledge,

awareness and participation behaviors in environmental education of students with different sexes and

science learning outcomes. The sample used in this study was 106 Prathomsuksa 5 students from 2 classes

of the Suraburi Anuban School in Maueng District, under the Saraburi Office of Elementary Education

Region, Zone 1. Cluster random sampling technique was used and the unit of sampling was a class. Research

instruments included learning plans entitled “Conservation of Environment” for the experimental group

which learned with the 7 E- learning cycle approaching with multiple intelligences and for the control group

which learned with the traditional method, consisting of 6 plans for each group, 2 hours for each plan and 2

plans per week; an environmental conservation knowledge test, and a questionnaire about participation

behaviors in environmental conservation. Statistics used for testing hypotheses were paired t – test and F-

test (two-way MANCOVA and ANCOVA).

The major findings revealed that the learning plans using the 7 E- learning cycle approaching with

multiple intelligences had an effectiveness index of 0.3084. The experimental group showed higher in

knowledge of environmental conservation, awareness of environmental conservation as a whole and each

aspect , and participation behaviors in environmental conservation as a whole and each aspect than before

learning (p<.001). The students with different sexes and science learning outcomes did not have different

knowledge, awareness and behaviors (p>.05). Students learning with the 7 E-learning cycle approaching

with multiple intelligences evidenced more 3 outcomes than Students learning with traditional method

(p<.001). However, there was no interaction between sex and learning model and interaction between

learning outcome and learning model.

Keywords- Effects of Learning Environmental Education, knowledge and awareness of conservation

resources and environments, 7 E-Learning Cycle
