There is no doubt that the Primary Election on Super Tuesday, February 5, 2008, will be an historic event in Illinois.and national history. We have a chance to give a boostto a fellow citizen from Illinois as he seeks to lead this great nation as President. OurUnited States Senator, BARACK OBAMA; is running for President of the United States. Every election for the past decade I have asked you to support one candidate or another. Never have I believed in the intelligence, toughness and goodness of a candidate forelective office as I believe in Senator Obama. I have known and personally worked withSenator Obama when he was a legislator in the Illinois Senate in Springfield. I speakpersonally when I say that Senator Obama is different than most politicians. Aside from arazor- sharp intellect and a dynamic personality, he was that rare legislator who would askquestions about bills because he truly wanted to understand how they would impact onthe average person. He was not nearly as interested .in what was popular as he wascommitted to what was right. I saw him take the lead on bills that looked unpopular andget them passed. Some of those bills have become, models for laws passed in dozens ofother states. He is a man of foresight and thought. He will be a great President and we canall be a part ofhis bringing change to Washington. I know the man. I am proud to ask foryour vote for him and his delegates.

In addition, we have an Appellate Judge race that features a candidate that eventhe Republican Party finds to be so qualified that a Republican Supreme Court Justiceappointed him to fill a vacancy on the Appellate bench. The Republican Party is not evenfielding a candidate against Justice JAMES M. WEXSTTEN. He does have anopponent in this primary and needs our votes to insure his nomination and election.

Early voting is again available and you can go and cast you ballot right now ateither the County Administration in Edwardsville from 8: 30AM to 6: OOPM or at theCollinsville Senior Citizens Center from noon to 6: OOPM ( 10: OOAM to 3: OOPM onSaturdays).
