I Am The Light of the World

John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am

the Light of the world; he who

follows Me will not walk in the

darkness, but will have the Light of

life."

I. The Light of God’s word would overcome natural darkness to bring order and life to the world.

Just as God’s light brought the earth out of physical darkness, so God’s light brings humanity out of

spiritual darkness

The Light of God’s Word overcame natural darkness, the light of God’s Word overcomes spiritual darkness. As the sun

and moon are natural lights continuing God’s brightness to the world, so we are to reflect God’s light in the darkness of

this world.

III. He has made us to be lights in this present darkness.


• Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill

cannot be hidden; (15) nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and

it gives light to all who are in the house. (16) "Let your light shine

before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and

glorify your Father who is in heaven.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

John 12:46 "I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in

darkness.
