HypertextA system that can link one text to another. It allow users to supply and recall data directly in their computers.
A system that to manage a collection of information that can be assessed non sequentially in which it consists of a network of chunk of information (nodes) and cross-references (logical links) between them; therefore, it enables users to explore or open any information available in any document without starting from the first document sequentially. (Lucarella, in the “information Processing Management” International journal.

The application of hypertext for the educational purposes due to its interactive capability & flexibility
It helps teacher to expand the notion of text including pictures, sound, music, animation, & video
As it is a non-sequential system, it allows student to read any topic of information without the necessity of reading from the 1st topic.It helps student with clearer explanations, descriptions, illustrations

DEFINITION FOR TEACHER FOR USER (STUDENT)
It gives individual attention to a user at the console & replies to the sytem.
He gets a freedom of action & encouragement to take the initiative (Nielsen, 1990)It enables him to choose & learn any topic of his interest.He allowed to browse through a large set of information available in the document, & to see it non-sequentially.
