Mixers meet today, from 4 to 6 pm at Trinity. Pastor John, and possibly others, will give a talk on the weekend spent in Columbus, Ohio for the Picnic of Hope. Listening Posts have been set up for Oct. 27 and Nov. 17 following worship at both locations. Listening Posts will be led by Council Members and either or both Pastor John and Pastor Jim will be present at each one. You are invited to come and share any thoughts of affirmation or concern regarding becoming one multi-site church

8:30 Baptism today of Simon Thwaits. He is the son of Mindy & Adam Thwaits and baby brother of Madilyn. Simon’s sponsors are Todd & Lori Line.Trinity grandparents are Tammy & Mike Yoder.

Congregational Votes will be on November 24 at 4pm. We will gather together at East Goshen Mennonite Church (17861 Indiana 4, Goshen) in order to be united in prayer and worship. We will then vote separately by congregation and gather together one more time to pray and announce the results of the vote. Bishop Bill Gafkjen will be present with us. In response to inquiries, our constitutions do not permit absentee votes. Please save the date on your calendars TODAY.

November 3rd we will observe the festival of All Saints. This was originally a day to remember those who gave up their lives for the faith - we observe it as a day to remember the significant people in our lives who are now a part of the Church Triumphant. We will remember members and significant others in our lives who have died in the last year. You are invited to bring your photo (with name of the person & your relationship) to either church office to be added to the display. Deadline: Oct 30.

The Comforters/Quilters will meet at Trinity from 1 to 3 pm on the following dates, tomorrow, October 14th and October 28th (usually the second and fourth Mondays of each month). No experience is necessary, just willing hands to assemble and knot warm blankets for Lutheran World Relief. Join us for fellowship and knowing we have made a difference for people in need. Bake Sale October 27th at both locations after services. The proceeds for the bake sale go to the Goshen Ministerial Association’s Emergency Fund. Churches throughout Goshen will be having bake sales in October for this cause. We will need a lot of baked good donations!! Sign up today at either location to furnish your favorites! Drop off your yummies Saturday afternoon Oct. 26– details to come – and of course Sunday morning. This day is a “Listening Post Day”. Holiday Happenings - your holiday shopping headquarters! Saturday, November 2, 9 am-2 pm at First English. The event includes crafters, vendors and lunch with proceeds going to 4-year old Carmen Yoder who is recovering from encephalitis. Carmen’s grandmother, Brenda Bowers, attends First English.
