Our customers have been telling us that their electricity bills are too high. That’s why we advocated to government on their behalf for a more fair and affordableelectricity bill.

Under the Fair Hydro Plan, the majority of our customers will see an averagereduction of 31 per cent on their monthly bills, meaning an annual savings of about $600*.

We know our customers want to see this relief as soon as possible – that’s whyHydro One has worked hard to successfully update our back-end systems so thatcustomers will see an immediate benefit as of July 1, 2017.

The Fair Hydro Plan will provide relief to those who need it the most – fixed-income,rural and Northern customers who have been struggling to keep up with the risingcost of electricity.

Hydro One is committed to improving our relationship with customers by listening to their concerns and acting on the issues that matter to them most.

*Based on our rural and medium density customers at 750 kWh a month.

• Credit amounts have increased by 50 per cent

• More lower-income households qualify for an on-bill credit

• Enhanced on-bill credits are available for customers of First Nations and Métis descent, if your home is electricallyheated, or if you rely on medical devices that require a lotof electricity

3. Reduction in Regulatory ChargesThe Ontario Electricity Support Program charge of 0.11 cents per kWh, which funds this program, has beenremoved from bills. This lowers the amount that customers pay for Regulatory Charges.

This will benefit Regulated Price Plan (RPP) customers who are billed Time-of-Use or Tiered pricing who are primarilyresidential and small business accounts.

2. Global Adjustment Credit The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has, as part of theGovernment’s Fair Hydro Plan, lowered the Global AdjustmentCharge which will benefit residential and small businesscustomers that are covered by the Regulated Price Plan buthave elected to purchase their electricity through a retailer aswell as small business customers that are not on the RegulatedPrice Plan.

5. Further reduction to Regulatory ChargesAll customers currently pay the Rural or Remote Rate Protectioncharge, which is included under the Regulatory Charges line on the bill. This charge is collected by the IESO to pay Hydro One and other distributors who provide electricityservice in rural and remote areas. It helps to offset the highercost of providing service to customers in those areas.

The OEB has announced the Rural or Remote Rate Protectioncharge of 0.21 cents per kWh will be reduced to 0.03 centsper kWh, effective July 1, 2017. This lowers the amount thatcustomers pay for Regulatory Charges by 0.18 cents per kWh.

6. Affordability FundThis fund will help customers make their home more energyefficient if they:• Cannot afford to make energy efficiency improvements• Do not qualify for the Save on Energy Home Assistance
