HYBRID CLOUD
Research shows workloads in the cloud rising from 41% today to 60% by mid-2018, according to technology research firm 451 Research. Most businesses already operate a hybrid approach but lack the capability to leverage all the advantages that integration between on-premise and cloud offers.
The move to cloud can be unsettling: it means letting go of old ways, but it can also be transforming. Old-school I.T. or ‘server huggers’ believe that owning and controlling their hardware, means they can protect it better than an outside provider. While this may have been true in the past, the fact that the CIA selected Amazon Web Services to build and run a special, secure cloud to be used by 17 intelligence-related agencies indicates that mind sets are changing and that cloud is now seen as a secure option.
One single infrastructure rather than multiple older data centres improves security. Consolidation means less complexity. All this makes it easier to monitor and protect. However, if you are not ready to move completely into the cloud, or there are reasons to maintain legacy systems and servies, Hybrid offers the best of both worlds. Integration can eliminate problems of disparate data silos.
According to Gartner, ‘a hybrid content architecture can help with the simplicity and ease of synchronization/migration of content across multiple content platforms.’
According to Forrester Research, ‘Data is becoming a key asset for enterprises, and data integration converged with application integration is a key requirement to support agile systems of insight.’
WITH INDUSTRY ANALYSTS ESTIMATING THAT THE BULK OF NEW I.T. SPEND IS ON CLOUD COMPUTING, THERE IS NO DOUBT WHERE THE FUTURE LIES.

A successful hybrid integration provider should be able to offer:
• The flexibility to integrate any cloud or on-premise application or data integration source and cater for any deployment model: on-premise, hybrid or fully in the cloud.
• The capability to address a broad set of integration scenarios and requirements. This includes API management and B2B integration as well as pure app and data integration.
• Ongoing development, deployment and management services.
Additionally, hybrid cloud environment enable Business Agility which is a critical driver for organisations needing to address core business data issues or effect change in response to competitive or legislative pressures. Organisations need to be able to ‘see’ all relevant data across the organisation. It shouldn’t be constrained by platform/format or software. This is why bringing together on-premise and cloud assets is essential for seeing the big picture.

FIVE REASONS TO CONNECT YOUR HYBRID CLOUD
SCALABILITY
Cloud environments
offer near limitless capacity and processing power. Access
the right amount of computing
power when you need it and scale
it down when you don’t.
FLEXIBILITY
Cloud computing allows you to try out new
technologies faster and
cheaper than an internal
build; from any location, any time
of day.
CENTRAL VIEW
By integrating your systems and data, you create a single management
view of all data and applications.
COST
Cloud eliminates the need for
upfront capital expenditure.
Integration reveals where cost savings
can be made. Businesses using
separate HR, Time tracking,
Accounting and Payroll software can see whether all these functions can be undertaken by one system and reduce spend on monthly licence
fees.
INCLUSIVE UPGRADES
No more large upgrade projects,
the bigger the environment the greater the saving.

FIVE REASONS FOR HYBRID CLOUDDATA MANAGEMENT
Reduce hosting and infrastructure
costs by lifting and shifting
databases, data warehouses and applications to
the public cloud.
Reduce ongoing costs by only
paying for resources and
capacity as required.
PAY AS YOU GO
Increase data warehousing capacity to a practically
limitless amount.
CAPACITY

WHAT HYBRID MEANS FOR ENTERPRISE I.T.
Informatica is the cloud integration leader according to Gartner, both in the most recent March 2017 Magic Quadrant and the 2016 released market share results (22% global share). Informatica Cloud is designed specifically for the hybrid data management challenge – an agile, clicks not code, integration tool to connect the new cloud world (platform and software as a service) back to your on-premise solutions. More than 4,500 customers use Informatica Cloud to manage more than 300 billion transactions every month. Informatica moves more data in and out of Salesforce than any other vendor. Simply, quickly, and smartly.
WITH MANAGING TRADITIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE TAKING UP A REDUCED ROLE, I.T. WILL SHIFT ITS FOCUS TO DATA GOVERNANCE, COMPLIANCE, POLICY AND LICENSING.
A hybrid approach will allow them to make I.T. more streamlined and simple, building clear visibility into day-to-day operations.

A metadata-based architecture supports data quality, visibility, lineage, governance and ultimately security.
An Informatica Hybrid Cloud solution offers the following benefits:
• Hundreds of out-of-the-box native connectors to data systems on-premise and in the cloud, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
• Performance at scale to integrate and manage petabytes of data on demand
• Data lineage delivers data visibility for improved productivity, reduced risk and improved quality, governance, security, and mastering
• Operational confidence through a single point of control for production data flows to ensure the rapid delivery of mission critical data
BEST OF BOTH WORLDSBEST-PRACTICE HYBRID DATA MANAGEMENT ADDRESSES GOVERNANCE, RISK MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE.
Large enterprises often have several important line-of-business systems integrated with their legacy storage platform, making it impossible to abandon on-premise storage.
Hybrid storage environments employ powerful storage synchronization tools
to probvide both the flexibility of the cloud and the security of on-premises file servers.
On-premise back-up for security and compliance needs,
as well as cloud service downtime
Anywhere, anytime access to files for remote workflow
Seamless file sharing both internally and with external stakeholders

OUR AIM IS TO INTEGRATE YOUR HYBRID CLOUD
Once this architecture is in place, we work towards rapid delivery so that value and benefits are realised within weeks.
To make sure we do this consistently, we have created the Agile Information Management (AIM) framework. AIM combines data management techniques and technologies from the Big Data age with proven practice, design and architecture.
Once an IM solution has been successfully designed using the AIM approach, the next decision is how to deliver it. Agile Solutions uses a close-proximity delivery model (ACC), with agile delivery methods (where appropriate) and highly skilled SME consultants.
Our Agile Competency Centres (ACC)provide a UK alternative to offshoring complex technology development. Our ACCs offer a range of services to assist delivery of specific IM programs or to provide an existing internal team with flexible additional support during busy periods. ACC services can be provided either on-site or be remotely delivered from our secure offices in Glasgow, Manchester and Milton Keynes.
We are committed to achieving rapid issue-free delivery for all our clients. Therefore we deploy Customer Success Managers (CSMs) who are subject matter experts in their respective domains. They ensure our customer’s needs are fully represented throughout the engagement lifecycle.
The CSM engages early in the sales cycle within a pre-sales capacity to make sure they fully understand the customer’s data management strategy. The CSM oversees the engagement to completion, working closely with the Account Managers and Project Teams to mitigate any delivery risks, adapt scope to address moving business priorities, and to ratify delivery success through our comprehensive customer satisfaction survey.

THREE POPULAR USE CASES FOR INFORMATICA CLOUD SOLUTIONSAGILE SOLUTIONS OFFERS THREE POPULAR USE CASES FOR INFORMATICA CLOUD SOLUTIONS USING OUR INNOVATIVE AIM APPROACH.
ON-PREMISE POWERCENTER
TO INFORMATICA CLOUD MIGRATION
It is recognised that a number of organisations are
looking to utilise Informatica’s integration platform as a service (IPaaS) model by moving their on-premise
PowerCenter deployments to the Cloud. In this scenario connectors will be required
for all source and target systems in the original
PowerCenter mappings and those mappings will need to be migrated/re-built in
Informatica Cloud.
MIGRATION TO CLOUD HOSTED
INFRASTRUCTURE
Many organisations are moving away from
on-premise server hosting. Informatica Cloud can provide the integration
needed to move their data onto these cloud platforms.
For example, an organisation wants to move a data warehouse to Amazon
Redshift. This could equally apply to use cases where
organisations are leveraging cloud storage to move files
around e.g. Amazon S3.

PREMISE DATA SYNCHRONISATION AND INTEGRATION
While using a wide range of SaaS applications may offer organisations greater agility to support business processes, reconciling this data with reporting, audit
and other functions can be challenging. Informatica
Cloud offers connectors for popular SaaS applications (e.g. Salesforce, Marketo, NetSuite) and generic API
connectors for other web-based systems to
address these challenges.
