TRANSITION PROGRAMS & CLASSES As of 1 Oct 2019, Federally mandated updates were put into effect for the Transition Assistance Pro-

gram (TAP). To begin the transition process, please contact the A&FRC at 884-5441 and ask for your Capstone Counselor. Retirees and Sepa-

ratees are encouraged to contact the A&FRC 12-15 months from their DOS (NLT 365 days). DOD Transition Day (1 Day): 1 & 15 December, 0730-1600 @ the A&FRC. Topics for discussion: Financial Planning, MOC Crosswalk, Resiliency, Mentoring, and Employment Panel. A briefing on TRICARE and the AF Reserve will also be available from 1330-1500 hrs. DOL One-Day Employment (1 Day): 2 & 16 December, 0800-1600 @ the A&FRC. Employment fundamentals for Career Transition (EFCT) to help members understand the labor market and various job search techniques. Department Of Labor (DOL) Employment Track (2 Day): 3-4 and 17-18 December, 0800-1600 @ the King Auditorium. This workshop covers all aspects of the job searching, resume, interview and dress for success. Pre-Separation Briefing: 10 December, 0800-1000 and 1330-1530 @ the A&FRC. Congressionally mandated briefing for transitioning members. Contact your Capstone Counselor to sign up. For those receiving an Admin discharge, contact your Capstone Counselor to arrange a 1-1 briefing. DOD Education Track (2 Day): 14-15 December, 0800-1600 @ the Education Center: 2 day workshop to help you identify an education path to suc-cess. Boots to Business (2 Day): 14-15 December, 0800-1600 @ the King Auditorium. Workshop facilitated by the U.S. Small Business Administration that provides an overview of entrepreneurship and business ownership fundamentals. EMPLOYMENT RELATED Spouse Employment Ready: 14 December 0900-1100 @ the A&FRC: An employment workshop conducted by the A&FRC and Career Source. The workshop will assist individuals in identifying their career needs and developing an individual career plan. Getting Started with LinkedIn: 18 December, 0900-1100 @ the A&FRC: Learn the value of creating a professional social media profile to get noticed by hiring managers and connect to industries of your choice. Federal Employment: 22 December, 0900-1100 @ the A&FRC. Discusses how to write a federal resume, hiring preferences, and navigating the USA-JOBS website. Resume Readiness: 28 December, 0900-1130 @ the A&FRC. This class will teach the tools to create a resume that will get you to the interview for your desired job. DEPLOYMENT RELATED Pre-Deployment Brief: 9 & 23 December, 0800-0900 @ the DCC. Required briefing for members preparing for deployment. Hearts Apart – Breakfast with Santa: 12 December, 0900-1100 @ the Stripes Pub & Grill in Navarre. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and visit with Santa in your pajamas. Please call 884-5441 to sign up. Space is limited for this event. FAMILY & KIDS Key Spouse – A&FRC Programs Overview: 1 December, 1130-1230 @ the A&FRC. The class is designed for Key Spouses, First Sgts, and other lead-ership. The overview will cover the 16 programs that are based here at the A&FRC. Get to know the basics of each program, how it supports Airmen and families, and who the POCs are for each program. EFMP LEGO Connections: 1 December, 1630-1800 @ the A&FRC. EFMP families learn to use LEGOS to enhance creativity, expression, and family bonding. Satisfies financial touchpoint “Permanent Change of Station.” Newcomer’s Orientation: 8 December, 0730-1200 @ the King Auditorium: Mandatory briefing for all new personnel assigned to Hurlburt Field. Class covers base required material, local laws, fulfills several in-processing requirements, and provides other helpful resources. Sponsorship Training: Tuesdays 0745-0830 & Thursdays 1530-1615, held virtually and in person @ the A&FRC. Designed to provide sponsors with the tools for effective sponsorship of Airmen and families. Personal Finance First Duty Station Officer Briefing: 3 & 17 December, 0900-1030, held virtually and in person. Mandatory financial readiness briefing for newly assigned first duty station officers. BRS/TSP: 9 December, 1000-1100, held virtually and in-person @ the A&FRC. Class provides an overview of the Blended Retirement System, and a detailed discussion on the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). SPECIAL OFFERINGS Trees for Troops: 11 Dec, 1600-2000 & 12 Dec, 0900-1100 @ the parking lot between ALS and the Education Office. Free trees for Active-Duty members and their families. Must bring voucher issued at the Tree Lighting Ceremony on 4 Dec 1600-1900 at Air Park.
