Hydraulic Workover & Snubbing

Hydraulic Workover/Snubbing

Halliburton’s hydraulic workover (HWO)/snubbing technologies provide a flexible and cost-effective alternative to conventional drilling and workover rigs whether it’s for drilling, work over or completing a well. Ideally suited for the most technically demanding operations, including HPHT, both onshore and offshore, our HWO/snubbing units and associated technologies can keep your well producing at optimum rates, typically at daily operating costs much lower than those for standard drilling or workover rigs.

Everything a Rig Can Do, Safer and Less Expensive

Halliburton’s re-entry technologies allow the use of existing wellbores to access untapped reservoirs. Technologies such as measurement-while-drilling and geo-steering, when combined with our snubbing technologies, have made re-entry an attractive option in recovering oil and gas at lower costs. Our hydraulic units are also ideal for deepening and drilling slimhole wells at lower costs than conventional drilling rigs or coiled tubing units.

Our stand-alone units are modular and can be moved by truck or in a single boatload and, in offshore environments, hoisted by existing cranes. This translates into faster and cheaper mob and demob costs than for a standard drilling or workover rig. What’s more, we design and manufacture our own equipment, giving us the capacity to provide faster and fit-for-purpose solutions, without the potential delays when dealing with outside suppliers.

Services include:

• Workovers

• Completions and/or re-completions, both balanced and under-balanced

• Plug and Abandon (P&A)

• ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) change outs

• Drilling and/or sidetracking

• Under-balanced drilling

• Thru tubing cleanouts and fishing, again both balanced and under-balanced

• Balanced and under-balanced plug drill-outs

• Well re-entry

• Blowout recovery

• TCP (Tubing Conveyed Perforating) guns

• Gravel pack installations

• Stand-alone pump and tank services

• Rig-assist balanced and under-balanced drilling operations

• Assisting drilling rigs with ram-to-ram stripping

• Underground blowout

• Well pressure control

Establishing the Quality Standard

Halliburton’s HWO/snubbing technology and associated services is a viable and value-added alternative for any number of normal or special drilling, workover, completion or well kill operations that used to be the sole domain of a standard rig. The fleet of Halliburton’s HWO/snubbing equipment is the largest in the world, with current operations in 12 countries, Halliburton is servicing the globe. When our units arrive on your location they are accompanied with the highest level of expertise in the industry today. Our pressure control expertise is especially valuable in technically challenging situations, sensitive formations, horizontal underbalanced drilling. Our staff of engineers can provide you myriad modeling and technical analyses well before your project commences, including snub force calculations, kick tolerance and torque and drag analyses.
