HW Install Quick Reference Guide Overview
1 OverviewFlexiPacket MultiRadio is compatible with the XD antennas.
tFor the compatibility with the FlexiHopper antennas a special adapter (to be installed onthe FlexiPacket MultiRadio) is available.
The FlexiPacket Radio is connected to the Indoor Device by using:
2 cables (1 cable for the Ethernet interface to be connected to the Ethernet connec-
tor and 1 cable for the Power Supply to be connected to the PS connector).
1 cable only to be connected to the Ethernet connector, if the Power+Ethernet
solution has been used. In this case the Power Injector must be installed (refer to
Chapter4 for the Indoor Power Injector and to Chapter5 for the Outdoor Power
Injector).
t
For the information regarding the connectors, the cable termination, the grounding, the
tools to be used and the cable fixing refer to the "HW Install" document.
t This Quick Reference Guide gives the information to install the 1+0 configuration withthe integrated antenna.
For the other configurations refer to the "HW Install" document.
t To install the Ethernet Repeater (if required), refer to the "HW Install" document.

2.1 OverviewVerify to have the correct parts and equipment (outdoor unit with correct frequency band
and sub-band, and a corresponding antenna). Check that it has not been damaged
during transportation.
The following parts and tools are needed in the installation:
FlexiPacket MultiRadio
XD FlexiPacket MultiRadio antenna
Ethernet cable and the Power Supply cable (if the solution with a dedicated power
supply cable has been implemented) with recommended connectors (waterproof),
cable ties or cable clamps
grounding wire
two 13 mm and 17 mm fork or ring spanners (two needed for tightening the locking
screws)
5 mm and 6 mm Allen keys/torque spanner (optional)/cordless drill (optional)/DC
voltage meter and cable with a BNC connector.

HW Install Quick Reference GuideFinalising the alignment
6 Finalising the alignment
t The LCT is needed for setting the radio parameters.Check that Automatic Tx Power Control setting is OFF at both ends of the hop when per-forming fine alignment.
Before fine alignment can be done, set the correct frequency and transmit power for both
near-end and far-end radios. The FlexiPacket MultiRadio at the other end of the hop
must be pre-aligned to this station and must be sending a signal on the correct fre-
quency.
t Note that the antenna radiation pattern includes two or more side lobes and one mainlobe. The radio needs to be aligned towards the main lobe of the far-end radio. To be
sure that you have found the main lobe you also need to detect the side lobes around
the main lobe.
Check the DC voltage meter readings:
1. Connect the DC voltage meter (connector type BNC) to the AGC connector.
2. Find the minimum value for the AGC voltage by vertical and horizontal adjustments.
The smaller the voltage - the greater the received power.
Main and side lobes of the radio

3. Check with the LCT that the Rx power level is within 3 dB of the value stated in the
network plan.
