Anstey's top tips

• The Q is worth 12 marks. This means you would have 16 mins max to answer this      Q (1.3 minutes per mark on Paper 1 and 2) . This means  your answer should be      about a page and a half in length.

• Explore the meaning of deprivation. Remember that the biggest factor affecting levels of deprivation is economic well being (levels of pay and employment). What role do qualifications play here? How does all this impact levels of health? Why?

• Use of data is key here (both the stats and the photos!). You simply must use data in your answer. Work your way through each data set.

• Inference thinking is also key. Essentially the examiner wants to know what geographical knowledge and understanding you can infer from these stats e.g. what do differing levels of full time employment tell you about a place? The opportunities there. The changes the area may have been through. The implications of differing levels of employment e.g. what knock on effects will there be?

• The command word here is 'assess the extent to which' which means you nedd to both say how the data DOES highlight differences but also what problems there are with this data.

• Check out the next 3 slides (especially the 'examiners suggested content' slide). I include it here to help give you an idea of the sort of things you could include in an answer and to help you start thinking like an examiner. Please do use the content...but put it in to your own words...no copying!

• You could start by giving a brief overview of what each photo shows and a general overview of what each data set suggests overall. Then start going in to more detail.

• Try and link different stats together.
