It’s a serve tropical cyclone with winds greater than 74 miles per hour, originating in the equatorial regions of the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea or Eastern regions of the Pacific Ocean.
Travelling in the direction of N, NW or NE from its point of origin.

Hurricane Katrina Was the strongest and deadliest Atlantic hurricane of the 2005 Atlantic Hurricane season. Hurricane Katrina majorly affected Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana in the US causing massive grief to the people and environment.

Was formed on the 23rd of August and was dissipated on the 30th of August.
It only lasted a week.

Katrina was a category five hurricane and was 640km wide. Its eye was 51 km wide
and wind gusts were 280km per hour.

Approximately people were killed and more than $100 billion damage was caused.

Evacuations were held on the
26th of August when Katrina was in the process of developing high wind speeds and floods.
Many people suffered the extreme conditions of dirty water, no electricity and the lack of freedom to go outside for fresh air.

In 2011, states and cities are STILL in the process of reconstructing the damaged areas in which Katrina destroyed.
Government officials predict that it will take a decade for all the damaged areas to be back to normal…
