Social skills and competences Through my professional experience I have developed the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in hierarchical and non-hierarchical teams and with colleagues from other departments and sectors. Having had the good fortune to work and live in a multicultural environment, I feel that I am sensitive to the complexities of such contexts. In the ATEE, I generally worked on my own, with close and regular consultation with the associations management board which had membership spread throughout Europe and beyond. In the Technical Assistance Office, I managed a multinational team and cooperate with other teams working with different projects and the offices transversal services departments. Contact with project coordinators and the Commissions officials was regular, occasionally challenging but always stimulating, requiring me to deploy different ways of approaching issues and problems and finding tailored solutions. My work as an independent consultant helped raise my own awareness of managerial qualities whilst encouraging me to question and develop myself both professionally and personally.
Organisational skills and competences
Work at the ATEE comprised all of the daily managerial and administrative tasks of the office from correspondence to accountancy and client management. At the TAO, financial advice and the evaluation and monitoring of projects allowed me to develop a thorough understanding of procedures and regulations and how to apply these intelligently and sensitively. Self-employment has taught me to organise my time and priorities in a different way, giving a lot of time to self-development as well as learning. Initiating business contacts and exploring new ways of collaboration has been an enriching experience.
Technical skills and competences I feel comfortable using computers, various software, databases and the Internet. Integrating these in my daily work has delivered real benefits in terms of efficiency and an improved follow-up of statistics.
Artistic skills and competences My free time is spent reading, doing sports and painting on silk.
Other skills and competences I have been fortunate in having had the opportunity to live, study, raise my children and become acquainted with the cultures and prevailing outlooks of different countries. Therefore, I do regard myself as truly transferable to a range of international and transnational contexts.
