B L U E I S T H E N E W G R E E NGet ready, the wave of blue is here. Now you have a new way to help maximize water conservation. Our read-at-a-glance blue dashboard has a series of vertical meters. The gray meter to the left has the primary product’s stand-alone blue rating. The blue meters to the right of the product show you our recommended accessories or options that optimize the primary product’s efficiency.* We reference each product’s page number to simplify your decision-making process. Just follow the blue to learn our recommendations. You’ll also find charts, graphs and complete technical information in our technical companion guide, with the guidance for each product highlighted in blue. Again, look for the blue to find our optimal water conserving recommendations.

Whether your pursuit is design or installation, professionals like you know that conserving our most precious resource isn’t an option. It’s a requirement. At Hunter, we don’t believe a single component ensures efficient irrigation. It isn’t about having only a “smart” controller. Fact is, all the parts play an integral role – working together as a cohesive system. We offer more options to meet your irrigation needs than any of our competitors. When combined in our recommended mix, the integration of products creates a highly efficient irrigation system. We might not have all the answers, but we have plenty of well calculated, sophisticated solutions. Further, we have interpreted the data so you can select the most water efficient product grouping to meet your specific requirements. As always, it’s about choice. What’s important is we’ve completed our homework to simplify yours, and that saves you time. Happy to do it. Think blue. *All suggestions assume that products are installed per our – and the industry – recommendations. Our companion technical guide will explain in charts and graphs more specific details and calculations.

(above right)Even the best of products generate inquiries. Irrigation master George Cole has been with our customer service department for years, solving the most complex technical questions for us and for those out in the field. Like all our people, he is very conscientious. Now if we can just get him to clean that desk!

(above left top to bottom)Education for the industry is vital. From interactive workshops to product literature, we keep you well informed.

Highly qualified technical service professionals love to troubleshoot. We’re at the ready to help solve design and installation challenges in the field. And anywhere else.

CEO Richard E. Hunter, son of founder Edwin J. Hunter, takes an active role in day-to-day operations.

At Hunter Industries, innovation doesn’t just motivate us. It defines our company. We’re downright passionate about

– okay, obsessed with – irrigation. Since its inception, Hunter has been an industry maverick, pushing the envelope to

explore and develop new technologies. So much so, we hold 250 product patents. Since creating the now renowned

PGP in 1983, we’ve developed more than 100 new products designed for professional installers. Including the ACC

controller, voted the most significant new product at the 2005 International Irrigation Association Show.

Truth is, you don’t get to be a leading manufacturer

of irrigation equipment by chance. By the time he had

founded Hunter Industries in 1981, Edwin J. Hunter,

with more than 150 landscape irrigation patents,

had long been an industry legend. Mr. Hunter was

not only an astute businessman but also a prolific

inventor. He was, in short, visionary. Today, Hunter is a

global company with a worldwide distributor network

in 80 countries. Producing the complete gamut of

water efficient products (check out our Blue Meter)

for residential and commercial projects as well as

for golf courses. Our mission? Has never wavered:

To be the landscape professional’s first choice for

irrigation products and services. We live it every

day with quality and control standards, and testing

facilities in a league of their own. Plus the industry’s

most accomplished management team. And an open

culture where our most valued resource – empowered

at every level – is our people.

FEEDBACK In the end, the key to the mix is customers like

you. Today as ever, your feedback more than interests

us; it’s the driving force for our product development.

So keep telling us what you want, and we’ll keep

delivering. After all, it’s our passion.

Prepare to be suitably wowed. It’s a powerful sprinkler, water conservation device and valuable design tool, all in one. Introducing the MP Rotator. A multi-stream rotor that fits any conventional spray head body or shrub adapter, converting each into a high uniformity, low precipitation rate sprinkler. Know this: the MP Rotator supplies matched precipitation with any arc, any radius. Water applies slowly and evenly to dramatically reduce runoff and wasted water. We’re not kidding. It can use 30 percent less water.

This product’s strength gives you superior wind resistance with tight, high-energy streams that stay the course in all weather. Add to that superior close-in watering, reduced misting at higher pressure and effectiveness on slopes. Further, you can triple the area covered per zone: the system uses fewer valves, fewer control stations, less pipe, less wire and considerably less labor. With lower installation costs, contractors benefit from more competitive bidding and increased profits. Combine any model on the same zone, too. After two decades of tested use in harsh agricultural environments, this solution is a ground-breaking newcomer to the irrigation industry. The MP Rotator. A rotor whose time has come.

Patented “double-pop” keeps sprinkler free from external debris.

Adjustment ring enables you to dial in the exact arc on all part circle versions.

Fits perfectly on all the available Hunter spray bodies.

THE MP ROTATOR AND THE MPR40:

THE PARTNERSHIP THAT PERFORMS

From our work with the revolutionary MP Rotator evolved the origins

of a great idea. To maximize the results of this multi-stream rotor, we

pursued the next logical step. Introducing the MPR40, a sprinkler

body that maintains a constant 40 PSI (2.75 bars). After in-depth

research, we confirmed that 40 PSI is the pressure that makes the

MP Rotator perform most efficiently, so it works optimally when used

with the MPR40. Together, the two are a true blend of technology and

performance. In the end, you get better uniformity. You’ll find our new

charcoal-colored MPR40 body cap also helps easy identification with

its MP Rotator counterpart. Discover the MPR40. Paired with the

MP Rotator, it’s a partnership that performs.

The PGP “junior” is a midrange rotor

for commercial and residential sites

with all the same features as the

original. Its smaller radius is scaled

down as an alternative to multi-row

spray applications. This version of

the world’s top-selling sprinkler is

adaptable where a spray would be

used, yet you get the benefits of a

rotor. Paired with larger rotors to join

big and small areas in a single zone,

the PGJ gives you more efficient

options not found with a spray. Fewer

valves and stations, less labor. Bottom

line: Fewer heads can perform the

same work at a more competitive

cost. Go figure.

Waters a 15’ to 35’ radius(4.5m - 10.5m). Brilliant.

Radius adjustment screw: Lets you fine-tune spray, ensures positive nozzle retention, and you can’t lose it. Whew!

Protective rubber cover: Keeps debris out. For good.

40° - 360° adjustable arc: Adjusts easily from top of sprinkler, up or down, wet or dry.

Water-lubricated gear drive: Consistent rotation to count on; proven over time.

Extra large filter screen: Traps more debris, no clogging. You want this.

Optional factory-installed drain check valve: Prevents wet spots from low-head drainage.

THE ROTOR RATIONALE.

People speculate about rotors vs. spray heads.

Everyone has a different approach, and sometimes

it’s a matter of personal preference. Still, chances

are you’ll need about three times as many spray

heads as rotors for the same area. In the case of the

PGJ, using one-third as much water as sprays, it’s

ideal for clay and loam soils, and on slopes. There

are plenty of reasons to get rotors. Fewer valves

and stations, less trenching, piping and labor. Just

ask the folks using them.

Easily fine-tune arc setting through the top of the sprinkler with screwdriver or Hunter wrench.

Time proven, water-lubricated gear drive plus a variable stator keep rotation speed consistent.

Every I-25 Plus nozzle gives you even, consistent distribution over the whole enchilada. Nobody beats us on this one either.

CHOICE. vERSATILITY. PERFORMANCE.Here’s what’s great: 12 different I-25 Plus nozzles handle any radius from 40’ to 75’ (12m - 23m) plus any flow rate from 3.8 to 31.5 GPM (14.4 l/min - 119 l/min). Gives you more choices to meet your specific needs. We rest our case.

EASE THE PRESSURE.Hunter’s patented Pressure Port™ system gives you excellent coverage and close-in watering by decreasing velocity and pressure as it increases droplet size. With high-flow, high-pressure nozzles, the huge force of the primary stream can draw water from the smaller secondary nozzle, affecting short and medium range coverage. Our larger water droplets are unfazed by the primary nozzle, less likely to be diffused by a blustery wind. Lower velocity reduces seed washout in newly planted areas as well. Practical and effective.

BUILT-IN PRESSURE REGULATION TO RELy ON.

The primary cause of poor performance in irrigation systems is improper

pressure. Too low or too high. Elevation changes, improper pipe sizing

and excessive inlet pressures at the head all cause it. The Institutional

Spray’s built-in pressure regulator solves this problem. The pressure stays

at 30 PSI (2 bars). Just where it needs to be. No misting, no fogging, just

regulated pressure. It will take inlet pressures up to 100 PSI (6.9 bars). Did

a mower eat a nozzle? No problem, this baby will reduce the flow rate by

70 percent yet still let you find the sprinkler so you can fix it. Built right into

the sprinkler, this regulator is ready to go and take charge.

Cover all the angles. Fine-tune nozzles to the arc you need. Hey, we’re on a roll. Introducing another new product from Hunter. Our new generation Adjustable Arc Nozzles are made to cover all those in-between angles. Whether hillside topography, a curved flower bed or other special landscape installation, challenging angles demand nozzles that adjust to their surroundings. Don’t forget, these are perfect for right out-of-the-box standard angles as well. They offer the best results of just about any adjustable arc nozzle in the industry.

We’re talking well-defined, clean edges. Engineered to deliver bigger water drops, these nozzles also deter winds from dispersing water. With their matched precipitation, you can group them together, even with different radii. And their new top makes them easier to adjust than ever. Set our nozzles at any angle from 25° to 360°. You just grab a bag and go. So you need a lot less inventory. No tools required. That’s not all. They’re color-coded for easy inventory and field ID. And very well-adjusted.

The standard nozzle whose performance is setting a new one. When you need a fixed angle nozzle, go for a winner. Increasingly popular with many contractors, the Pro-Spray® name has been one of the industry’s best-kept secrets. For those in the know, these professional-grade spray head nozzles work well and look great. Be it full-circle, half-circle or quarter-circle or others, fixed angle configurations receive uniform distribution from all sides. The optimum droplet size minimizes misting and maximizes coverage. Five radius ranges are available and each can be reduced for fine-tuning. Finally, our nozzles are color-coded for easy at-a-glance radius identification in a spray head. All in all, a sure bet.

Exercise your options.Choose from four different PCB models as well as an AFB model. Four color-coded PCBs offer flow rates of .25 (.9 l/min), .50 (1.9 l/min), 1.0 (3.8 l/min) or 2.0 (7.6 l/min) GPM. You can be confident your plant materials receive precisely the water they need. The AFB model pressure-compensates to a 2.0 GPM flow. Simply fine-tune the amount of water with a stainless steel screw adjustment. You’re set.

A great disappearing act. This Micro-Spray Nozzle with pop-up design, which attaches directly to a pop-up sprinkler, knows how to disappear like magic. An excellent alternative to drip. When finished, both the nozzle and the spray head body retract out of sight. Nothing to trip over will remain above the surface. How’d they do that?

Stream of consciousness. This highly evolved multi-stream bubbler nozzle is a Hunter exclusive. When you need to water a larger area in a planted zone, the four streams on the half-circle and eight streams on the full-circle discharge water to do the job. Installs onto and works perfectly with our conventional pop-up sprinklers. Retracts after use to stay out of the way. Mindful safety and visual appeal.

Thrive under pressure. These pressure compensating nozzles show up to do their job, then retract with the spray head riser out of sight. Our nozzles offer added protection from vandals, are aesthetically appealing and offer a viable method for deep watering. Install on any Hunter pop-up spray bodies, a real benefit. Great in visible public areas.

Latest technology gives you drip precision, no problem. Advanced Hunter bubbler products compensate for pressure differences to give you a level of controlled application not previously available with bubblers. Whether a smaller site or a large planted area, if your landscape requires deep watering you can have uniform distribution with no excess runoff or wasted water. It’s an alternative to drip that conserves water and looks great.

ICVFilter Sentry™

Let’s face it, nothing can sabotage

a valve’s operation like dirt. It may

be easier to filter out the large

pieces, but smaller troublemakers

like mineral particles can build up

over time on the diaphragm filter,

obstructing the valve’s performance.

Which is why Hunter developed Filter

Sentry™. It’s a scouring mechanism

that continuously works while the ICV

is operating. Paired with all the ICV’s

other features, it gives you the most

ironclad valve around. One that can

withstand pressures up to 220 PSI (15

Our Landscape Drip Line helps apply water slowly and precisely to plant material for consistently even distribution. Water is applied directly to the surface with an application rate that lets it soak in over a period of time. As such, this method virtually eliminates conventional sprinkler issues like runoff, pattern distortion from wind and water wasted on hardscape. That’s good news for everyone.

In-line pressure-compensating emitters: Provide consistent performance.

Built-in check valve: Helps prevent emitter clogging and water loss.

Available emitter spacing of 12” (30.5cm), 18” (45.7cm) or 24” (61cm): Select the spacing you need.

Emitter flow rates available in 1.0 (3.86 l/hr), 0.6 (2.27 l/hr) or 0.4 (1.59 l/hr) GPH: Your choice.

Blank tubing available (no emitters): Helps connect the dots.

Comes in 250’ (76m) and 1,000’ (305m) coils: Need a little or a lot?

Superior flexibility and kink resistance: Don’t get in a pinch.

Works great with our Drip zone Control Kits.

For years, Hunter has produced rugged, dependable valves. Now, there are pre-assembled kits

that bring together these popular valves with both a filter and a pressure regulator, providing you

with a complete control zone. The main element of these kits is the brawny Hunter valve, featuring

high-grade material construction designed to handle the toughest conditions a job site can offer.

Additional durability comes courtesy of a standard stainless steel screen, available in 100 and 150

mesh sizes. Rounding out the elements in our kits is a pressure regulator that maintains the outlet

pressure to a level suitable for drip zones. Save both time and labor with the PCZ, PACZ or the ICZ.

REAL-TIME FLOW SENSING RESPONDS WHEN yOU NEED IT.

As soon as there’s an inconsistency in flow conditions, the HFS flow sensor alerts you. It detects when

user-determined limits are exceeded, before damage occurs. On a large site you can’t be everywhere

at once. Yet this Johnny-On-The-Spot device identifies and shuts off the appropriate stations, saving

precious water every time. All you do is add the HFS flow sensor and the corresponding FCT sensor

body for your piping. You’re in business.

T H E L O W D O W N

Imagine a controller that reduces a sophisticated multi-wire system to a simple equation, handling 99 stations with only two wires. As always, Hunter captured something complicated and distilled it to a simplified version. What’s the payoff? With wire costs steadily rising, installing only two wires that go up to 99 valves means you’ll need much less wire in the ground. Yet that’s just the beginning. Over time the system of wires can be vulnerable to problems. The ACC Decoder’s magic streamlines servicing the electrical side of an irrigation system because you no longer have to sort through a multitude of wires to identify a problem. There’s more. Our decoder station makes adding new stations easy. Just splice in the decoder

where you need it. Is your Hunter Flow Sensor or Mini-Clik at a distance from the controller? No problem, just hook up the Sensor Decoder and you’re on your way. Discover the fastest growing technology in irrigation control today. One plus one equals an intelligent solution. Do the math.

Hunter’s remarkable ACC-99D decoder output module simplifies programming and troubleshooting. The ability to operate (and add) large numbers of irrigation solenoids over a single pair of wires has never been easier. As with the rest of your Hunter controllers, you can program the ACC-99D with simple dial-and-button controls. Comes in a package your crews can operate with no worries.

Operate up to 12 valves plus a pump and master valve with this Hunter decoder system. We give you a great selection of multi-station decoders to fit any system layout.

ACC-99D offers true two-way decoder control: each decoder communicates its on/off commands and status back to the controller each time it is activated. What’s important is the ACC-99D can operate dozens of solenoids, even miles away.

The schedule provides only the water required for your landscape. No more, no less. Easily add the ET System to any existing Hunter controller that operates with a SmartPort®.

Needless to say (but we will), the ET System works best with a well designed and properly installed irrigation system. The ET System is a tremendous water-saver that transforms your irrigation controller into a substantially more efficient device. It also helps ensure healthier plant material. For high wind areas, ET Wind is a must. This valuable add-on option increases the accuracy of your ET System. It will also shut down ET-controlled stations at 15 MPH (24km/h) of wind velocity.

ET Wind offers yet another opportunity to save water.

FACTOR IT ALL IN.

ET-based irrigation measures solar radiation, temperature, humidity and wind, the four factors that determine

how fast the plant material and soil lose moisture. The ET System then calculates irrigation schedules that

will replace the water required to maintain healthy plant material. It considers each zone’s precipitation rate,

unique plant material requirements and the soil’s infiltration rate and water holding capacity. You’ll find simple

menu selections. In the end, you get irrigation schedules designed to help your landscape thrive.

Interfaces: Each controller uses an interface for communication with the master controller. The ICC, Pro-C and SRC controllers use external hardware interfaces to communicate. ACC controllers use internal plug-in modules.

Communications: The central computer can use special hard-wired cable (GCBL) for local sites, and dial-up telephone lines or cellular to remote sites. Within each site, multiple controllers can be linked with hard-wired cable or UHF radio (FCC license required for radio).

Clik Sensors: Connected to the interfaces for off-line alarm protection, which doesn’t need the computer, and for on-line alarm notification, received on your next communication. Informs you of rain, freeze or wind shutdowns.

Hunter Flow Sensor (HFS): Wire the optional HFS into your ACC controllers to add station-level diagnostics and real-time flow monitoring. Identify a system’s low-flow or overflow conditions and close a master valve before damage occurs. Record and report water use by controller, program and station.

wasting water when it’s raining. With

today’s available technology, it’s just

plain inexcusable. The ingenious

Mini-Clik® installs on any automatic

irrigation system to keep sprinklers

off during or after precipitation. It

works like this: As the moisture-filled

controller and the solenoid valves,

compensating for the amount of

rainfall. When dry, the disks contract

and release the switch. The device

resets automatically without affecting

the controller. This economical

product works on any controller. A

must-have item for your inventory.

Easily installs on any automatic irrigation system: Works with just about any controller.

Patented mechanism protected from dirt and debris: Operation you can rely on, no pointless shutdowns.

Activates at various rainfall quantities: Set from 1/8” to 1” based on local conditions.

Includes 25’ (7.5m) of 20 gauge two-conductor wire: Fast and easy mounting that’s out of view.
