Online – These programs are fully completed online, without the need
to come to campus. Note that some programs may offer practicum
experiences or labs that require participation on-site. Programs offered
online can often be completed in a flexible time frame.
Blended – Programs that can be taken with a blended learning
approach offer most courses face-to-face in the classroom but some
courses in the program can be completed online.

maybe you even know a few. Your heart aches to reach out and help, if only you knew how.
Working in the field of Child and Youth Care makes it possible for you to follow your heart
and succeed in a career that changes lives. It’s a career in which you’ll work with children,
youth and families coping with challenges. Exposure to trauma, rejection, abuse and
emotional stress are just some of the circumstances they may have faced.
Our Child and Youth Care program will prepare you to make a difference. Imagine taking
the knowledge and skills you’ll gain and using them to enhance the development of children,
youth and families in a variety of settings. We’ll provide you with a meaningful practicum
experience totaling 21 weeks of full-time involvement. And, if you want to further your
education, your two-year diploma will transfer to a range of programs at several
degree-granting institutions.

Early Childhood Education• one-year certificate and one-year diploma (the certificate must be
successfully completed before applying to the online diploma program)

If you possess a caring attitude with a desire to make a difference, you’ll find a rewarding
experience through our Early Childhood Education online and on-campus programs. You
can be an essential part of a child’s early years, where learning through play is a vital part of that
child’s development. Full- or part-time studies are supported in this program to suit all different types of
students’ lifestyles, and you can complete the program in a flexible time-frame.
In the certificate program, you’ll gain the skills you need to understand the basics of child development
and growth. In the online diploma program, we’ll show you how to plan appropriate learning
experiences as a key element in early childhood education. You will also receive a comprehensive
introduction to child growth and development, curriculum planning, health, nutrition and safety, all from
a family-centered approach.
You’ll be learning from experienced instructors who will help you put the theories you learn into practice
with hands-on experience gained through 98 days of practicum, focusing on children from birth to six
years old. Your certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education will give you more than a practical
grounding in child development. It will provide you with the knowledge and experience you need for an
enjoyable career working with young children at any stage of development. Graduates are in high
demand, and you’ll find a variety of work opportunities in many different settings.

Our innovative and accessible Educational Assistant certificate and diploma programs
will give you the skills you need to help students reach their full educational potential.
You’ll learn how to play an important role as part of a student’s educational team, working with
and supporting teachers in designing and implementing programs to help students maximize their
school experiences. Some people consider that a job; people like you consider it a calling.
You’ll study speech and language development, educational trends, applied behavioural analysis
and observation, assessment and reporting methods. You’ll also spend time in field placements
in your own geographical area, applying your skills and abilities in a real world environment. At
the end of your certificate or diploma program, you’ll have a valuable combination of theory and
hands-on experience preparing you to work in a wide range of educational settings.
Become an Educational Assistant and experience the satisfaction of helping students with a range
of exceptionalities overcome obstacles and achieve their full learning potential. Your Educational
Assistant expertise will be in high demand in schools, pre-school settings, early intervention
