Personal ContactsPersonal Contacts

Personal Contacts are often more useful in finding a job then sending out resumes because people are able to put it in a good word and therefore be a great reference which could assist in getting a job. If someone is able to get in touch with a contact they are directly speaking with them which makes it much easier.

Job FairsJob Fairs

Jobs fairs are useful in finding a job because Job fairs are very useful.  A company will usually not hold or participate a job-fair unless they have an acute need for candidates.

A Job-Fair or Open-House (as it is sometimes called) is like a casting-call for a theatrical production.  The idea is to get hundreds of candidates in a room with lots of interviewers and start the interviewing process for as many people as possible.  Interviewers are looking for that needle-in-the-haystack.  If they are lucky, they will find 2 or 3 "Haystack-Needles" per session.
