There are lots of moving parts and pieces to this puzzle, but Climate Interactive, Ventana Systems, and MIT Sloan have created an amazing educational tool to test out the impact your ideas and strategies could have on the global temperature increase by 2100. Attendees will receive an introduction to using this tool, and learn more about the climate change impacts of everything from cow belches to population growth and renewable energy with a simple but very accurate world climate simulation program. This software can also be used in gaming situations where teams can compete with each other to arrive at the “best” solution to the climate crisis, while learning how and why various strategies interact to help reduce the global temperature increase. A “student assignment” template is also provided to make it easy for faculty to challenge their students to come up with their own strategies.

The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. Key components covered in the training include: how to question, persuade and refer someone who may be suicidal; the common causes of suicidal behavior; the warning signs of suicide; how to get help for someone in crisis; and campus, community and national resources. This workshop is highly recommended for all faculty and staff whom have direct contact with students.

Emergency Preparedness and Prevention

Description: This workshop teaches adult CPR and AED use as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. Upon completion of this course, participants will receive an American Heart Association CPR AED course completion

card that is valid for two years. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory and other requirements.
