When Huckletree was founded in 2014, it was based on the belief that you can’t change the world alone. We need people around us who share similar values and ambitions to make change and build a better future.

Today we’re building hubs across Europe, curated by theme and sector, for businesses and entrepreneurs of any stage, mentors, talent and investors to come together, scale, be brave and lead industry change. From PUBLIC Hall, our GovTech hub in Westminster, tour VC and Scale Up hub in the Nordics, we’ve hand picked spaces across London, Manchester, Dublin and Oslo with a strong sense of history, spirit and neighbourhood.

But spaces are just the beginning, and we’re not just here for the good stuff. We’re invested in the hard realities, growth plans, challenges and ambitions of our members, and accelerating them with access to networks, knowledge and investment no matter their stage. The History:Huckletree D2 is located on Pearse Street in a 19th century landmark, The Academy. Built in 1824 as the headquarters of the Dublin Oil and Gas Company, it soon became a fixture of the city’s art and theatre scene and has major historical significance.

Previous to housing Huckletree D2, it was also Twitter’s HQ. Whether literary, political, entertainment, business, or tech, this building has always been home to innovation.

The Neighbourhood:World-renowned university Trinity College is within five minutes walk of D2, as is Silicon Docks, home of the European headquarters of Facebook, Stripe, Google and AirBnB.

Nearby is Ireland’s best know Victorian public park, St. Stephens Green; an oasis of nature admidst the bustle of Dublin city life. For the caffeine connoisseurs, our neighbours Cloud Picker are the city’s first micro coffee roastery.

Edel Cohen – Draper Esprit Investment Associateand Huckletree Ambassador

Born and raised in Ireland, Edel’s career began on America’s West Coast. She accepted a graduate role with Enterprise Ireland in 2011, who wanted Edel to be their eyes and ears on the ground in Silicon Valley.

Richard Murphy – Zevo Health Founder & HuckletreeD2 Member

Huckletree D2 member Richard Murphy is a passionate believer in the power of community.

By the time he’d joined us at Huckletree, he already had a few different careers under his belt. First he worked in construction (an industry that has its own challenges when it comes to mental health), as a quantity surveyor, a role that took him all the way out to Melbourne. By the time he returned to Dublin in 2015, he’d decided to retrain as a nutritional advisor, accepting a job at St Patrick’s Mental Health Services to help patients understand how food affects mood.

Today, Zevo provides wellness training for clients ranging from accountancy firm Grant Thornton to tech giant Google.

Its aim is to make sure employees are equipped with the emotional tools they need to balance their work and personal lives ─ and make sure they don’t burn out. ‘Employers have a responsibility to create an environment where people are safe and satisfied coming to work,’ Richard explains.
