• Background– Taobao is the largest network retailer in the Asia-Pacific region and is
founded in 2003 by Alibaba Group. By the end of 2008, Taobao had over 98 million registered members covering most of online procurement crowd in China. The trading volume in 2008 amounted to 99.96 billion yuan, accounting for 80% market share of China's online shopping market.
