Huawei ‘Seeds for the Future’ program 2021 Are you an undergraduate/graduate student looking for an interactive online experience? Are you interested in ICT sector because you see it as an industry that will shape the future? What are we offering? We are offering university undergraduates the opportunity to join an online experience around technology innovation and cross cultural exchange. It is an 8-day program from 25th October to 1st November 2021. During the 8-day program, the participants will: receive entry level and advanced courses on key technologies, including
5G, cloud computing and AI experience the traditional and modern China through virtual tours of
Chinese scenic spots or fast growing companies hear from Huawei experts, external entrepreneurs, professors or
scientists who will share perspectives on a wide range of topics from cyber security to aerospace industry
immerse in an interactive and dynamic classroom where group discussion, debate, round table

dialogues will be arranged to ensure cross-cultural exchanges with fellows from other countries participate in “Tech4Good” group project to increase social entrepreneurship, build problem
solving and leadership skills through team work, and deepen sense of social responsibility get a glimpse at Huawei’s history and technological developments including virtual tours of
Huawei exhibition halls, campus and stores
You will officially join the alumni community where exclusive webinars, round table dialogue, celebration event etc. will be held all year round to strengthen the sense of belonging. Who are we looking for? To be considered for Huawei’s ‘Seeds for the Future’ program in 2021, applicants will need to match the following criteria: Jamaican Undergraduate students who are interest in the ICT industry Students from the University of the West Indies, Mona and registered in the Faculty of Science
& Technology or Faculty of Engineering or students from the University of Technology and registered in the Faculty of Engineering & Computing (FENC)
Students who have completed the first year of their three-year-undergraduate Program or students who have completed the second year of Their four-year-undergraduate program
Demonstrate excellent academic result, year-to-date GPA 75% or above (>=GPA 3 on a GPA 4.0 scale or >=GPA 3.2 on a GPA 4.3 scale)
Have a strong interest in telecoms and technology, no professional experience will be required.
Age between 18 to 28 years old *Please note that this is a non-paid program.

Note: 1. The essay and Video must demonstrate the applicants’ opinion or interest in the ICT industry,
their knowledge of ICT basics, interest in ICT, interest in Chinese culture, and enthusiasm for learning, also they need to demonstrate their thoughts and suggestions on the country's ICT industry development.
2. Short-listed candidates will be subjected to interview for final selection conducted by Huawei Technologies Representative.
