On your trip, try to identify how many state license plates you can see. This isn’t really a game,
rather an activity where everyone can help each other by calling out license plates for everyone to
check off.
See how many your family can identify during your trip!

Learn a Road Trip SongLearn a Road Trip SongLearn a Road Trip SongLearn a Road Trip SongLearn a Road Trip SongLearn a Road Trip SongLearn a Road Trip SongLearn a Road Trip Song
Take time to learn the following song while on your trip. Sing it to-
gether in the car. Try to involve everyone!
Clementine
In a cavern, in a canyon,
Excavating for a mine,
Dwelt a miner, forty-niner
And his daughter Clementine.
CHORUS
Oh my darling, oh my darling
Oh my darling, Clementine
Thou art lost and gone forever,
Dreadful sorry, Clementine.
Light she was and like a fairy,
And her shoes were number nine,
Herring boxes without topses
Sandals were for Clementine
{CHORUS}
Drove she ducklings to the water
Every morning just at nine,
Hit her foot against a splinter
Fell into the foaming brine.
{CHORUS}
Ruby lips above the water,
Blowing bubbles soft and fine,
But alas, I was no swimmer,
So I lost my Clementine.
{CHORUS}
Then the miner, forty-niner
Soon began to peak and pine,
Thought he oughter jine he daughter,
Now he’s with his Clementine.
{CHORUS}
In my dreams she still doth haunt me,
Robed in garments soaked in brine;
Though in life I used to hug her,
Now she’s dead, I draw the line.

Alphabet SignsAlphabet SignsAlphabet SignsAlphabet SignsAlphabet SignsAlphabet SignsAlphabet SignsAlphabet Signs
The object of the game is to find a word on a street sign or on another vehicle that
starts with the letter that you are currently on. The end goal is to get through the
whole alphabet in alphabetical order.
Everyone in the car starts at the letter “A”. As people see signs with the word that
begins with “A” they move on to the next letter, “B” in this case.
Only one person can claim a word on a sign at a time.
Write down each of the words for the letters that you find on the street signs.
The first person to get to the letter “Z” wins.

GAME RULES:
Each person in the car chooses a different page in their passport that has a
bingo card. During the road trip, as the players spot numbers on license plates
that are on the card (eg. License Plate: 315N WPR would complete a square: 31
or 15 on your card). When they find the number, they mark off that square on
the bingo card. The first person to get a full row completed (either horizontally,
vertically, or diagonally), they are the winner. If the scenic route is not providing
the amount of items quickly enough, a non-player may shout out different num-
bers to help the game move along.

One person is designated the “odds” player while the other is labeled
“evens”. Players hold one hand out in front of them and count together
to three (sometimes chanting “Once, twice, thrice, SHOOT!” or “One,
two, three, SHOOT!”). On three (or “shoot”), both players hold out
either one or two fingers. If the sum of fingers shown by both players is
an even number (i.e. two or four) then the “evens” player wins; other-
wise the “odds” player is the winner. Since there are two possible
ways to add up to three, both players have an equal chance of winning.
Use the scorecard below to keep track of the winner of each round.
