The Journey of Haryana School of Business

Erstwhile Departments of Business Management and BusinessEconomics got merged in 2007 to create a business school.

The university aspired to establish Haryana School of Business onthe pattern of Indian Institute of Management for meeting therequirements of teaching, research, and consulting in managementand its allied areas in this part of the country.

The Committee was constituted under the Chairmanship of Prof.J. S. Choker (Former director, IIM-Ahmedabad) for recommendinga suitable Model of B-School for the University in December 2006.

The Chhokar Committee submitted its report in February 2007

The University, thereafter, approved the report in March 2007

The Govt. of Haryana approved the concept of HSB in May 2007and the State Assembly made required amendment in theGJUS&T, Act accordingly.

Note : Supernumerary seats are over and above the sanctioned intake.

The Admission Process at HSB

MBA, MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing) and MBA(IB) Programmes

Merit shall be finalized as per CAT Score with a specific cut off

percentile for all categories except SC category where relaxation of 5

percentile is allowed from the specific cut off.

In case the seats are not filled through CAT, HSB will hold its own

online/offline test to fill the vacant seats. Academic merit will get due

weightage as per university policy. The eligibility conditions are as per

AICTE/UGC norms.

M Com Programme

Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in entrance

test conducted online/offline by HSB plus academic merit of candidate.

The eligibility conditions are as per AICTE/UGC norms.

Ph D Programme

Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in entrance

test. However, Junior Research Fellows are exempt from entrance test

and their admission is based on direct entry scheme of UGC. The

eligibility conditions are as per AICTE/UGC norms.

Outcome-Based Course Curriculum

HSB offers, outcome-based and credit-based choice, two years MBA,

MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing) and MBA(IB) and M Com

Programmes divided into four semesters.

After second semester students of MBA Programmes undergo

online/offline summer training of 6 weeks duration to get first hand

exposure of the industry.

Specialization starts in first semester itself for the super specialized

courses whereas in case of MBA & M Com students opt their

specialization in third semester which can be single or dual

specialization( one major and one minor areas of specialization).

Research project is an integral part of course curriculum.

Syllabus is updated after every year just to incorporate the latest

developments and requirements of the industry/corporate.

Last updating of syllabi for various courses has been done in May

2020.
