Getting Started

Windows 8 - HP Mobile Connect AppRegistration

Before you can purchase a data plan, you will first need to register with the HP Mobile Connect service. It is recommended that you are connected over WIFI or LAN to complete the registration.

The application is started from the HP Mobile Connect tile, found on your Windows 8 desktop. [Fig.1]

When you click the tile, you will be directed to the End User Licence Agreement acceptance screen, which you will only need to accept once.

Next you will be directed to the Welcome screen. Clicking ‘Next’ will bring you to the Dashboard [Fig.2]. As you have not yet purchased a data plan, the text under ‘Current Plan’ will read ‘No Plan’.

Clicking the ‘Register SIM. Receive Free Trial’ button will take you to the ‘Register’ screen [Fig.3] where you must set up your HP Mobile Connect account.

Input your user details and click ‘Register and begin free trial’. This will register your HP Mobile Connect account and apply your free trial. You will be taken to the Dashboard [Fig.4] where your free trial will now be displayed.

You may now begin using the HP Mobile Connect service. From the Dashboard you may now also purchase more plans by clicking the ‘Shop Plans’ button.

Windows 7 - HP Connection Manager

Registration

Open the HP Connection Manager and select the “Register” button to begin the SIM registration process via an Internet connection.

Please note that the registration process requires that your computer is attached to a LAN or WLAN connection with Internet access. [Fig.5]

With a valid LAN or WLAN Internet connection, you should next be prompted to register. [Fig.6]

When you click ‘Register’, a web browser window will open and you will be asked to enter your name, address, username, and password in order to associate and register your HP Mobile Connect SIM. [Fig.7]

Input your user details and click ‘Register and begin free trial’. This will register your HP Mobile Connect account and apply your free trial credit. You will then be asked to activate the SIM. [Fig.8]

Finally, your SIM will be registered and activated for HP Mobile Connect use. [Fig.9]

PLEASE NOTE After purchasing a plan, it takes 10 - 30 seconds for a connection to be established before you can start using your plan.

Your browser will now display the Dashboard [Fig.10] where your free trial will now be displayed. You may now begin using the HP Mobile Connect service. You may also purchase more plans by clicking the ‘Shop Plans’ button.

Network Connection

The user experience is optimal over a HSPA(+)/ UMTS/LTE connection withgood reception. If you are experiencing connection issues, please ensure that:

• You are in an area with good coverage• You have correct firmware version on device
