Display Assistant Software: The HP Display Assistant Utility is a monitor control and calibration program that offers an easy step-by-step process for obtaining the best overall picture quality for your HP display. Getting the best image on a monitor requires you to adjust it for your unique settings. Unfortunately, the manual controls available to tune the image often prove to be challenging.��Proper adjustment (tuning) requires an easy-to-use program that goes through a step-by-step process to obtain the best overall picture quality. ��In most cases, even simple adjustments to Brightness or Contrast require navigation of the multi-level, on-screen display (OSD) menus that are not easy �to understand. Furthermore, there is no feedback to assist in correctly setting the controls of the monitor. ��The display settings for each user can be saved, providing an easy way to select display characteristics in a multi-user environment, or allowing a single user to have multiple defined presets based on content and ambient lighting.��NOTE: HP Display Assistant scans the display to determine which features are supported. The list of supported features displayed in the application will �vary based on model and input selected. On windows 10 creator update or later, the HPDA will be a Desktop Bridge app. This app will be able to install/update from Windows store. �The main difference between UWP and Desktop Bridge app are: Desktop Bridge app is always running. UWP's lifetime is managed by Windows Runtime. UWP can only use Win RT API. Desktop Bridge app can access win RT API and most of Win32 API. We still need a classic Win32 installer to support OS earlier than Windows 10 creator update. 2. What are the PC resources needed for HPDA (software footprint)? About 10-20 MB 3. Does HPDA report any information back to Portrait or HP? The only information sent back to Portrait is through the Tech Support link. When the user selects to report a bug we ask if they want us to automatically fill out the support form. If yes, then we get the system OS, driver, information. If no, the fields are left empty. We request an email address so that we can reply with a solution.

Theft Deterrence: Protects your display against unauthorized removal from your computer. To enable Theft Deterrence, click on “Enable Theft”. First time users will be required to set up a PIN (4-9 digits). Then each time you log on to your PC and monitor, your PC gives the monitor the correct PIN for the clear sharp screen to show. If the monitor is removed and used by an unauthorized user, they will receive an undesirable view and the OSD is locked. Power Savings: When powered on, the display is using power, even if the screen is black. Adjust the settings on this pane to minimize the power usage during inactivity. Idle Timer: Use the idle slider to set the standby mode timer. Power Off Timer: Use the Power Off slider to adjust the length of time before the display is automatically turned off.
EXPORT .EXE FILESAllows you to export your preset of monitor(s) and create an .exe (executable) file to save time and easily upload on other computers without having to install HP Display Assistant.
