The first is the ‘Easy Way’ and the second is the ‘Professional Way’. The differences are ‘Easy Way’ cleans very little and could be done with just a few tools. The ‘Professional Way’ will give you better results. However, you need more time and efforts to do it. For car enthusiasts, the professional way is probably more rewarding. Let’s start with the ‘Easy Way’. The Easy Way mainly focus on 1 thing- the rims. When your rims look shiny and clean, your wheels would look impressive. However, it is not only the rims you have to clean if you want your wheels to look really impressive. When it comes to Professional Wheel Cleaning, we need to clean another part- tire. This is because dirts will accumulate on your tire over time. The dirt will make your tires look old and brownish. By cleaning and restoring them, your tires will look new again. Wheel Wells are the same as well. There are a lot of dirt around those areas and affect the overall appearance of the wheels.

How To Clean Aluminum, Alloy and Chrome Wheels?

Do you want your wheels to look shiny and impressive? Would you like your wheels to look new again within the next 30 minutes? Hi, My name is Alex. In this video, you are going to learn how to clean aluminum, alloy and chrome wheels in a professional way. When it comes to cleaning wheels, there are 2 different ways. So, how many ways? Two.

So, how to do it? When it comes to professional wheel cleaning, there are 5 important things you need to prepare. How Many? Five. That’s right. First, you need a good wheel cleaner. Wheel cleaner is able to remove lots of dirt and stubborn contaminants on your wheel wells, tire and rims. Next, a wash mitt! Wash mitt is able to help you to clean the rims very effectively. It is able to trap the dirt in it instead of leaving them on the rims while you are washing. The next thing you need is a scrub. You can use a wheel brush to wash your tire. However, I prefer using a scrub. If there are lots of stubborn dirt or you haven’t been washing your tire for a very long time, scrub will help you to remove them very easily and quickly. Wheel brush is the next on the list. Wheel brush is very effective in cleaning your wheel wells. This is because there are lots of areas you could reach with your hand. With the long handle of the wheel brush, you can reach those areas very easily. Finally, a normal paint brush. Most people might not expect this tiny tool. You can either choose a professional tiny wheel brush in the local stores or just get a cheap paint brush for this purpose. This is a very effective tool in clean lug nuts which are mostly very dirty and ignored. They can only be cleaned with tiny items such as a tiny brush. So, what are the steps to clean your wheels? Step 1: Rinsing Let’s start with the first step- rinsing. Rinse the wheel wells first with your hose. Next, rinse your tire. You can use your hand or a piece of cloth together. Finally, rinse the rims. Rinsing is important to remove and loosen the dirt on the wheels and lubricate it.

Step 2: Applying Wheel Cleaner Spray the wheel cleaner on the wheel well, tire and rim. Once you are done, let it sit for 2 to 5 minutes before cleaning them.

Step 3: Brush the Wheel Well Just use your wheel brush and start brushing the wheel well. Once you are done, remember to rinse your wheel brush.

Step 4: Scrub the Tire Next, scrub your tire. Spend some time to scrub the dirt out.

Step 5: Wash the Rim Use your wash mitt to wash the rim. Remember to be very detail because there are lots of dirt hiding around. Use some pressure on it, so that the dirt will be cleaned and trap in your wash mitt.

Step 6: Clean the Lug Nuts Last thing to clean is the lug nuts. Use the paint brush to clean them in detail.

Step 7: Rinse Again Once you have cleaned all the parts, rinse them again with water. You can use your hand or a piece of cloth while you are rinsing to clean the wheels as well.

When you are done, you can dry it or leave it to dry before you move to the next step.

Step 8: Look for Damages and Problems Once your wheel is dry, you can have a look at your wheel to identify damages or problems on your wheel. If you found any damages or rust, you can restore the shine with a good aluminum or chrome polish. You can get them at many stores.

Step 9: Apply Tire Dressing Once your wheel is shining and looking good, you can start to apply some products to make it look shiny. In this step, you can apply dressing and protectant on your wheel. For tire, what you can do is get a cloth and apply some tire dressing. Next, rub a bit to spread the dressing around the tire. Once you finish applying, you will realize that it looks new again.

Step 10: Apply Sealant Lastly, you want to protect your rims as well. What you can do is use some sealant on it. Just apply a little on your foam applicator pad. Apply on your rim and make sure you cover everywhere. Sealant is able to protect your rim and make it look shiny as well. Once you finish, wait a while (the instructions will be provided on the product) and buff the residue with a microfiber cloth.

If it is a daily car, I normally do not recommend applying dressing and sealant because your wheels might get dirty again very quickly. After finishing all the steps, you might realize the tire has turned black and looks like a new one. The rims will look shiny as well. You can spray some water on it and you will realize that the water is beading off. This is the result that we are looking forward to achieve.
