How your baby learnsBirth to 3 years In the first 3 years of your baby's life, they will go from being totally dependent on you for everything to becoming their own little person. Know more about how your baby learn and develop and how you can help and guide them.
3-6 months
Reach out for toys Play with various hand toys
Build blocks, post shapes, scribble
Build towers, draw, thread beads
Read and talk to your baby
Make sounds, look at your baby’s eyes
‘Peek a Boo’ games encourage babble
Look at picture books and use single words
Smile, hug and play with your baby
Feelings of being happy, angry or sad may show
Play next to other children, encourage pretend play
Put words together, ask questions
Move arms and legs, roll from side to side
Sit and hold toys Crawl and pull to stand
Walk, squat to play
Run, climb stairs, pull large toys
