We know this first hand because Andy (our driver) was diagnosed with aggressive Breast Cancer only weeks before she was going sit her drag racing license. Treatment might have put racing on hold for almost 2 years, but Andy and Mick (her hubby and our crew chief) kept their sanity by catching up with a community of supportive racers.

“Going to the track was a nice release from the seriousness of doctors, hospitals and treatment. It was also a great way to recharge our batteries.”

Several years later, Nick & Liz also found the support of the drag racing community invaluable to the well being of their whole family during their own struggle through Breast Cancer. So after Liz had been given her “all clear”, Nick - Modifi ed Drag Racer - asked,

“How can we share our racing experience with others going through this journey to brighten their day?”

So Therapy On Wheels was created to put smiles on faces by donating the proceeds of rides (and rides for families) to Breast Cancer Care WA, so they can also put smiles on faces.

LUXURYLUXURY& Horsepower& HorsepowerWhat is it?Quite simply it’s a 2004 CLK320 Mercedes Benz, with a 6.2L 707HP Supercharged HellCat engine. While on the outside it looks like an original CLK Mercedes, the inside is geared for race safety with a 6point roll cage, 2 x 5 point hanesses, and 2 x chassis bolted aluminium race seats. Additional features have been added - such as adjustable front suspension and large fuel tank - so we can offer circuit track exhibition rides, although racing will only be on the drag strip.Drag Radials have been chosen for additional versatility when exhibiting at car shows, and also allowing us the ability to provide passenger rides at country tracks.The inside will be returned closest to its original appearance, with top of the line race features integrated into the background.

Why did we choose this car?Because it’s a very unique choice for drag racing, and it’s stylish. It will defi nitely turn heads. heads.

RACINGRACINGPassenger RidesLicensed experienced drag racer Andy Kahle will take her fully race kitted out passenger for the ride of their life, racing from a standing stop to the quarter mile fi nish line at over 200kph. “Off Street” Drag Racing in Perth is held at the Kwinana Motorplex on Wednesday nights, from September to May, in a safe, and fully sanctioned environment.The passenger and their family will not only experience the closeness and excitement of being part of a drag racing team, but will also be introduced to the inner workings and safety measures that make this such a popular sport.

Competition RacingAndy will also be racing the Mercedes (without passengers) in competition drag racing events (currently at Kwinana Motorplex, Western Australia), providing sponsors with additional exposure to a very large motorsport audience.

* Travel to other Australian drag racing tracks will be dependant on budget.
