Does Scouting Work?Scouting is more than just an activity-it is a leadership training program that prepares young people to make moral and ethical choices over their lifetime. The integrity and moral fiber that they develop helps guide their character development and is unmatched by any other organization in the nation. Mt. Diablo Silverado Council, Boy Scouts of America Scouting Programs are making a positive impact in our community by teaching young people the values and skills that lead them to be self-reliant, good citizens, and the next generation of leaders.

CPR Training Scouts learn CPR to be prepared in emergencies. A Scout never knows when they may need this skill to save someone they love or to be a hero to a stranger.

BSA Radio Merit BadgeLearning to use radios for two-way communication can help a Scout be prepared for emergencies by providing reliable communications when telephone systems fail or where they do not reach.

STEM ProgramThe BSA’s STEM initiative gives Scouts an opportunity to explore relevant skills and experiences and for their achievements to be recognized. The aim is to expose youth to opportunities and help them develop skills critical for the competitive world market.
