Finding Articles in the Health Sciences Using PubMed at UCLA
PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 19 million citations from MEDLINE and
other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s. PubMed at UCLAincludes links to full text articles
and other related resources.
Getting to the Biomedical Library Homepage and PubMed at UCLA
From a library work station, click and select the option Article Databasesand searchfor PubMed (For
access to full text you must click onPubmed for UCLA users)
OR
From a laptop or personal computer, start from the
Biomed Library Homepage. You can get there a
couple of ways:
! From UCLA Library home page
(http://www.library.ucla.edu), go to
Libraries and Collections, select The
Libraries, and choose the Biomedical
Library
! Go to: http://www.library.ucla.edu/biomed
On the Biomedical Library home page, click on
PubMed at UCLA on the left-hand side.

Sifting Through Your Results
Getting the Full Text
1.
Click on the article title you want.
2.
Click on the in the top right corner. The UC-eLinks menu allows you to see if the UCLA Library
subscribes to this material in either print or online form.
REMINDER: If accessing PubMed off-
campus, and you are a current UCLA student,
staff, or faculty, you will need to set up your
proxy. To do that, go to:
