how to use online forums to find hot topics
DESCRIPTION
TRANSCRIPT
Looking for great topics for your blog doesn’t have to be difficult.
You simply need to know where and how to look for topics …
… that resonate with your audience.
Where to Look
The best places to look for blog topics, in my opinion, are …
ONLINE FORUMS.
Social media communities are also good, but …
… you only see the topics with the most responses.
You don’t see the topics with the most number of views.
Why is the number of views more important than the number of responses?
Because not everyone who is interested in the topic…
… has anything to say about it.
If the topic has a lot of views but has very few responses …
… that means, only a handful of people can give…
… good information or advice regarding the topic.
You can take advantage of this fact.
You’ll be able to produce content that is unique and interesting.
Let me give you an example.
Let’s suppose that your niche is Internet marketing …
… and you want to write about social media as it relates to Internet marketing.
Let’s go to my favorite Internet marketing forum:
http://www.warriorforum.com/
Browse through the forums and pick the topic…
… that is most relevant to what you want to write about.
For example:
This is how the Social Media forum looks:
How to Look
Now, take a look at the column with the number of replies and views of each topic.
Look for the topics that have the lowest ratio of views to replies.
REMEMBER THIS:
The number of replies should be low …
… and the number of views should be high.
Let’s look at one:
This is a good topic because …
… it has 222 views and only 6 replies.
In this thread, the original poster was wondering...
In this thread, the original poster (a.k.a. OP) was wondering...
…why nobody talks about his Facebook page even if it has quite a number of likes.
One of the members who replied asked if he simply bought the “likes.”
You can read the entire thread here:

Since this has captured the attention of quite a number of people…
… this seems to be a good topic that you can build upon.
You can write a blog post titled, “Why is Nobody Talking About My Facebook Page?”
Or…
You can write a blog post titled, “How to Get Thousands of Facebook Fans for Free.”
See? Finding a blog topic is easy peasy!
Let’s take a look at the steps:
Step 1: Look for a forum relevant to your niche.
Step 2: Look for the section in the forum that is most relevant to your topic.
Step 3: Look for threads with low ratios between the number of views and replies.
REMEMBER THIS:
The number of replies should be low …
… and the number of views should be high.
Step 4: Read the thread and use the info to brainstorm for ideas.
Step 5: Do your research and write your content.
That’s it!
THE END.
