How to use Live HotmailFirstly Double Click the Left Mouse Button on the Internet Explorer Icon

Click once in the address bar (this will make the words go blue) and type www.hotmail.com and then press Enter or Go

Type in full your email address in the top line then click once with the Left Mouse Button in the second line and enter your password.

After filling in these two fields with the Left Mouse Button click once on Sign In

The first page when you enter hotmail lets you know how many messages you have unread, you can find this in brackets next to your Inbox

To open your email inbox click once on Inbox

Open Messages

After you have opened your inbox you can now open your messages

By default they will be in order of date received. The messages that are in bold print are your unread messages and the lighter messages have been read already.

Name of Sender

The Message Subject

To view your message click once on the Name of sender or the Subject

After you have opened your message you will notice some options which you can choose from above the email. Below describes what the 3 main ones do:

Reply: This will allow you to send a message back to the sender (the senders email address will automatically be in the To box and the previous message will be below the new message you will send)

Forward: This will send the email you are currently on to a different address

Print View: If you wish to print the message you must press this first. This will pop up a new window where the message will be in the correct format to print.

How to send an email

When you access your email account or in your Inbox click once on New

Next you will see the following screen:

After you have sent your email, Hotmail will pop up a confirmation message to let you know the email has been sent. To return to your Inbox, click once on Mail.

Firstly click in the blank box beside To. A flashing line should appear, this means you can start typing.

Enter the email address of the person receiving the message

Finally when you are all done click Send

Then click in this box to type in the Message itself.

Next click in this box to type in the Subject of the email

How to Delete Emails

To delete emails individually click once with the Left Mouse Button in the box next to the email you want removed. You can deselect them by clicking in the same box again.

After you have selected all the emails you want removed click once with the Left Mouse Button on Delete.

TIP: To select ALL the emails on that page click once with the Left Mouse Button in the box ABOVE the first email in the list, this will select all of the emails. To deselect them all click in the box again

How to Sign Out of Hotmail

After you have finished using Hotmail you should now Log Out of your account, this is to ensure no one can access your emails without your permission. At the top right of the webpage click once with the Left Mouse Button on Sign Out.
