1.1 Use the Consolidated Index to find the relevant volume and paragraph number of a specific topic you are researching;

1.3 Use the Consolidated Table of Statutes to find a reference to specific legislation.

The index volumes will give you a reference to a Main Volume in bold type, plus a paragraph number in lighter type.

Go to the Main Volume and look up the volume and paragraph number that the index volume refers you to.

To ensure the information in the main volume is current, turn to the Cumulative Supplement. Use the headings at the very top of the page to find the same volume, subject and paragraph number. If the paragraph number is not included, then there has been no change since the main volume.
