SETUP
Switch your computer on.
Connect the ethernet cable to the computer.
Connect the Intensity Extreme device to the computer with the thunderbolt cable.
Connect the hdmi/mini hdmi cable to the hdmi input on the back of the Intensity Extreme device and to mini-hdmi out port on the right side of the Canon Vixia HF S21.

In the Apple System Preferences> Other> Blackmagic Design> Settings
Set your Output to "HDMI & Component” and your Input to "HDMI Video & HDMI
Audio."
Use video setup in NTSC at 7.5 IRE for use in the USA.
Set default video standard as HD 1080i 59.94
Also make sure that your Select Input Processing and Select Output Processing
are both set to OFF.

* NOTE - If you want to stream audio coming from a analog audio equipment (and not from the camera built-in microphone): 1) In the Apple System Preferences> Other> Blackmagic Design> Settings

2) Connect the breakout cable to the intensity extreme device and the RCA
connector to the audio console or other external audio source.

VIXIA HF21 - SETTINGS
Turn on the Vixia HF S21 camera.
Press
Set frame rate to 60i and simultaneous recording to 1920x1080
LIVE FEED SOURCES (WIRECAST SETTINGS) Open the Wirecast application on the computer from the dock.
Click the Movie Camera button (on the left bottom side of main window) and select
Intensity Extreme_1 Shot from the drop-down menu.

Click the Movie Camera button one more time and select the “Show Source
Settings”.
In the Source Settings Panel select “Intensity Extreme_1” and make sure that the
Video Format is set to HD 1080i 59.94
Click apply to save the settings and close the Source Settings window.

WEB VIDEO BROADCAST SETTINGS (WIRECAST SETTINGS) (For streaming to services such as Ustream, Livestream, Justin TV)
To display the Broadcast Settings window, select Broadcast Settings from the
Broadcast menu.
1) For streaming to USTREAM
• Select the broadcast settings and set the encoder preset. In this case we
selected Flash 720p (1280x720).
• Set the destination to Ustream.
• Add your account information and press Authenticate.
• Insert the password of your Ustream account.
• Select a channel that you would like to use for your broadcast and save.

2) For streaming to LIVESTREAM
• Select the broadcast settings and set the encoder preset. In this case we
selected Flash 720p (1280x720).
• Set the destination to Original Livestream.
• Add your account information (channel, username and password)
• Save

RECORDING TO DISK – WIRECAST SETTINGS If you want to record to disk while broadcasting your presentation on Ustream
and/ or Livestream you can add new broadcast settings to the list by clicking the
plus (+) button.
• Set the encoder presets menu to Flash 480p
• In DESTINATION, select the last option “Record to disk”
• In FILE, you can rename your file by typing the preferred name (the default
name is MyStream)
• In TYPE, select MPEG-4 from the drop-down menu
• Save your broadcasting settings.

BROADCASTING You are now ready to broadcast your presentation.
Wirecast has two main display areas: Live Broadcast and Shot List. The Live
Broadcast is the large area in the upper portion of the window displaying what
Wirecast broadcasts to your viewers (or record to disk). The Shot List, in the lower
half of the window, displays the shots available for broadcast.
You can click on the broadcast icon if you want to start broadcasting and on the
Record Icon if you want to start recording to disk

NOTE: ERROR -4024 when streaming with USTREAM
In case of ERROR -4024
From Telestream Desktop Support (Telestream Support Case 1-224275):
Error -4024 is a known issue in Wirecast when connecting to Ustream streaming servers.
When the XML is generated by Ustream it sometimes leave "offair" in the channel key.
To solve this issue:
3) Download the Flash Media Encoder XML file to the computer from your account on Ustream.
Go to the advanced setting of your Ustream Channel and download the XLM file from the remote page as in the screenshots below.

• Launch Wirecast.
• In Wirecast, select Broadcast > Broadcast Settings. Set the destination to
RTMP Flash Server. Click the “Open FMLE XML File” button and upload
the XLM file downloaded from your Ustream account and save.
