Getting a tank
Places to get a tank:vwww.Ebay.com
vwww.gumtree.comvAny local pet-shopvwww.Amazon.comv
Adding and choosing gravel
vUnlike normal cold and warm water fish Oscars are very particularabout the way their gravel lies. They may move the gravel the way that they wantit to lie.vOscars prefer darker colours or sand. All the colours at the side are alright.Oscars are alright with bright colours but just don`t give them luminous colours.vAlways make sure you clean the gravel before putting it in the tank as if you don`t it clouds the water.
Adding and choosing ornaments
vOscars like hiding behind slates so a slate would be ideal.vTwisted drift wood is also very ideal as it stains the water the natural colour
of tea like the colour of water in the amazon.vStones are also good.vNormal ornaments are also good.

Adding water
Get some normal tap water in a jug or container. Put as many jugs or containers in as you need.
Then add the water safety liquid into your tank (read the label and use as many caps as you need).
Cycling the tank
Leave your tank to cycle for one to two weeks.
Introducing and buying the fish
Your fish should have:vClear eyesvClear colours (not covered in white spots as this is a condition called white spot).vHealthy fins and doesn`t have fluffy white stuff on their fins.vLet the fish float in the tank for a while to get used to the temperature.vThen introduce some tank water into the bag still letting the bag float.vFinally introduce some more water before putting them into the tank.vTake the band of the top of the bag and pinch the top right corner WITHOUT spilling the water and
fish.vThen take the bottom right corner and put the lip of the bag in the water to gently spill the fish and
water into the tank.vIf your fish die which isn`t very common you should get a fish refund guarantee.
